I liked the tank set from Tempest once it was completed. I think the vibrant coloration of each of the sets could result in a clown suit, but this was all pre-transmog system and was the entire reason they added a transmog system.![]()
Sure, but matching sets usually meant horrible stat optimization, so if you wanted to be effective at most roles, you ended up with eye-searing mismatches.
Agreed. There are so many weapons I love, until I get the glow on. It's just so tacky and overdone. Tasteful glow can really enhance the look of a weapon, there are plenty of examples in the game already. But big blobs of random emissive particles obscuring the weapon almost never makes a weapon look better.
The Hades weapons are a good example of a decent glow that they should do again. Same with exarchic I think. If they could implement that sort of glow with maybe little additive stuffs going on perhaps, that should suffice really.
Zodiac Weapons have the best glow, I think. They enhanced the weapons by adding detail, like Yoichi's targetting ring and Nirvana's wings, even the Lux weapons looked better with it (though it comes from them looking kind of plain without it). Lately they feel like the relics have a glow just to have one.
It's just like the 2.0 relic Nexus glow, bright enough to blind you. I still feel TEA weapons might be too glowy too, but then again they chose an anima step for it which was another oddity.
The eureka armor with the glow almost looks like they just white boxed the armor and then just threw glowing bits on it.
Considering the grind relics tend to have, I'd expect nothing less than an exploding mountain dew downpour of glow considering how much mountain dew one would drink to survive the 1-session grinding it took...
With some weapons the glows complement them nicely, but not all of them are like that unfortunately. I think the last time there was a good balance between weapon design and glow for every relic was the end stage Zodiac weapons in ARR.
