Random party invite from Zili Raven(Malboro)?? Scam?

Just now I and another stranger got a random party invite from Zili Raven (malboro server) while in Coeurl server. They didn't respond at all in any chat when I asked who they were and what the party was for. I asked my FC and one of them said that the other day they got a random invite from the same person while visiting a friend in Brynhildr. It doesn't seem like a junk account, they were 80 all crafters and most combat jobs and were a crafting mentor.

Is this some kind of scam? Should I be worried that my info has been stolen??

Oh, I just reported that too. It looks like the character has several level 80 jobs, so it might be a hacked account (or just dedicated).

I came here to ask if I should've done differently since I reported it for harassment.

My FC suggested I just blacklist them but when I went to do so they had logged out or left world or something cause the game couldn't locate them

If it's happened to several people, perhaps an elaborate means of getting people in a position where they're more likely to click on a phishing link perhaps.

I did not get a party invite, just a tell with a link to a url with "final fantasy xiv" as part of the name but with a different domain. And they claimed it was the "FFXIV forum thread" which would have been taken as the official forum without any other context, but as we can see, the official forum does not have "final fantasy xiv" in its url name.

Judging from what Linayar said it might be that they were trying to send you a tell and invited you to party on accident instead.

Oh god hahaha! I hope this person can get their account back though and it doesn't just get banned for RMT/Phishing :s

Yeah... I’ve been seeing a lot more RMT scammers using clearly hacked characters and I always feel bad for the account owner.
