For the Journal it would be nice if it said your next quest will be available from "npc name at "their location." I remember doing job quests and it would sometimes be such a long interval between them that I couldn't remember where the job trainer was. I feel like this would be useful not just for job quests but all quests.

This technically exists already for job quests. In the top left corner of your screen (outside of the journal) you should see a box that has your current MSQ quest listed/"To Be Continued". Your current job quest will be listed right underneath that box in small yellow letters (only if you have one ready, if you're under leveled for the next quest it won't show up there). You can click on that and it'll pop up a map to where you can pick it up.

As for normal quests, I agree that it would be helpful to include where the next pick up location would be after you finish the previous one. Saves a trip to google the entire quest line to figure out what's next.
