Here I Am, Stuck Again - No Questgiver for "Honoring the Past" Quest

Once again you guys are going to have to help me out!

I cannot access the last aether current in order to fly in the Sea of Clouds zone.

I found out that I need to complete the quest: "Honoring the Past" in order to access this area.

I travel to Ishgard, port to the last vigil, go to coordinates 11.5, 11 and there is an NPC right there. But he is the House Fortemps Guard (gate keeper). The quest giver for this quest is supposed to be House Haillenarte Knight. He is no where to be seen and there is no quest icon on my map for him.

The quest required to complete before this quest becomes available is listed as "He Who Would Not Be Denied". It is listed as a quest I have already completed.

So, once again I am missing something and unable to figure out what it is, and am unable to fly in the Sea of Clouds until I determine where I have gone astray.

What point are you up to the MSQ? If you can list that quest name please, we will have a better idea.

The only thing I can think of is that it's a level 56 quest and it seems you're only level 55.

Shibi,I believe I am on the last quest before I get to lvl 60. I have one more lvl 59 aether current quest to do to complete all the aether current quests. I do not remember doing any dungeons with whales, but I may have just forgotten it. The last dungeon I remember being in that was part of my MSQ's was The Great Gobal Library.

linayar, I do not play klip klop any more. My main now is miranda mayhem. She is lvl 69. I tried to change the image that appears from klip klop to Miranda but gave up trying to figure out how to do it, and not sure you can change it.

MSQ is sequential. So if you've tackled Great Gubal Library you have certainly unlocked that commonly missed knight. And you know the spot, outside House Fortemps.

So, I think, looking at your aethercurrent log, screenshot, or say which one is missing, if you count left to right and first line or second? Also, double check you most certainly got all the blue quest in sea of clouds, there are a few to grab in OK'Zundra.

I tried to change the image that appears from klip klop to Miranda but gave up trying to figure out how to do it, and not sure you can change it.

I don't have another character, so I can't test it, but I believe it has to do with the star on the top left of the character image.

To change characters associated with your forum account, click on 'Settings' next to the big blue 'Log Out' button in the top right corner of the Forum screen, and then in the Settings screen from the 'My Settings' menu on the left side click 'Edit Character' - this then shows you with a list of your currently associated character, and below that, all the characters on your FFXIV account (listed as 'Selecting Character').

In the 'Selecting Character' list, your current character will have a yellow star on their avatar picture, with the other characters having grey stars. To select another character, click on that grey star so it changes to yellow, and then in the three class options below, select the one on the furthest left and choose your desired class to be associated with the forum account (it's best to choose one with a level of 50 or above as your character's level determines the amount of posting restrictions on the forum - level 50 and above has the least amount). Then when you're satisified click 'Save Changes' in the bottom right of the screen.

It should change your character info in your posts from now on.

1) Double triple check that you didn’t already accept it. I believe you haven’t but this is equivalent to the “is the thingie plugged in?” that tech support say. Always good to check!

2) Do you have any other quests from that NPC that might be doing something funky? (I did a quick check and it seems to be involved in the Paladin quest line... again I suspect this not to be the case but who knows!

3) There is a possibility you have completed this one and it’s another quest you need to do. This quest is a very forgettable fetch quest, so it’s possible you knocked it out real fast. I’d suggest as others said, double check the Vanuvanu in Ok’Zundu, or other potential quest givers. Alternatively, check the required quests to get the currents and make sure all others are in your completed quest log.

If i need to unlock a certain quest, but the NPC does not want to give me the quest, i know that i've forgotten a quest along the way. Sometimes, you would either have to finish another side quest or the MSQ has branched of in more then 1 quest and you need to finish all of them before you can continue. I find myself using the "Gamer Escape"-page to check what i need to unlock a certain quest.

In this specific case, the Issuing NPC for the "Honoring the Past"-quest is House Haillenarte Knight (Fortemps Manor (x:11.5, y:11)). In order to get that quest, you need to be level 56 and have have completed the "He Who Would Not Be Denied"-quest.

You've already mentioned that you've finished the quest. But, I hope this page helps at least.
