    Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

    How long have you been experiencing this issue? When this occurs, are you connected directly to the router or are using WIFI? Additionally, does this occur if the cookies and cache on the web browser are cleared?

    I have been having this issue for about 4 or 5 days now, as Datachanger said below it is hit or miss if i can get on, 50% of the time it stays at a black screen and i have to keep reopening the launcher hoping that it will let me in

    I've only seen this one happen on rare occasions, make sure that you're Flash is updated to current version and java. Running Ccleaner can sometimes sort it out too.
