Easily the ugliest housing map in the game, it was somewhat better with the trees. Now they've removed the decorative trees and its back to HUGE open areas of nothingness and ugly textures. Just make the trees permanently part of the map ffs

If you want tree's just go to the lav beds :v
I have a house in the goblet. My solution was: Florist walls, a mixture of a lot of pretty colored trees in my front yard, and ignoring the rest of the zone.
lmfao XD
seriously. Thats exactly what I did to my yard too so I dont have to look at the ugliness thats outside my walls. Its such a poorly designed map, and they finally fixed it up a bit then take it away. Makes no sense. I dont even think their design team looks at the housing at all
I feel like I'm the only person that actually likes the Goblet sometimes.
The Goblet fulfills an important part in the current housing system: Because it is so ugly it is the only housing district where you can click on the placard for 15 hours without the fear that someone comes in and snaps the plot away to relocate their house o.o/
It is the entrance level housing district. Once you have a house there you then try to go to the next level and relocate into a more beautiful district. And when that is done you can try to upgrade further by relocating to an M or L plot (but don't make that mistake to buy an M or L plot in the Goblet, they are only for the few people who don't care or maybe actual like it there).
They didn't "fix it up", they added seasonal decorations and packed them away again. The cherry trees don't even make much sense in the desert setting.
I haven't spent a huge amount of time there but it's usual design suits the desert setting. I've been meaning to get an apartment there for one of my alts because that's the style I want for him.
I like the Heart of course. And I like the tunnels, the general architecture, the view of the cliffs and mist below. I like hte southeeast part of the map where things feel more out of the way and private.
The only reason my house is in the Mist honestly is it just kind of fits my character RP wise to live around Limsa than Ul'dah.
Event decorations don't stay around permanently, just putting that out there. The cherry blossom trees came with the Valentione's Day/Little Ladies Day event and now that it ended, they packed them away again. Goblet is supposed to look the way it does because it's reflective of the city of Ul'Dah (There is little to no greenery in that city & very brick/stone upscale "rich" vibes, so they wouldn't put greenery into the housing district, it wouldn't fit with the design concept).
Like it was said above, if you want greenery in the Goblet, you'll have to add it yourself in your yard or move to a housing district that has more greenery eventually.
