Anyone else not find Dancer appealing as a class?

I love DNC, I realise it's simple to play and normally I am one for complexity but I love the way it flows and feels to play. And it's flashy.

If the Devs want an example of how to make a job that simple fun to play I'd point to DNC.

RDM is another like that, though I got burned out playing RDM.

Love dancer, but I would like to see the core mechanic tweaked somewhat. I like using the different colored steps to power up my dance, but having to physically avert my eyes to see the rotation then to double check which buttons are where is something I dislike.

I think I would have preferred set dance steps more like ninja’s mudra... so maybe one dance chain is better for parties (the current buff), and one better for solo, and one just does more burst damage at once...something like that.

So while Dancer is one of my top 3 favorite classes, I honestly find myself playing bard or mechanist more because they are just simpler.

I actually think it's in a decent position for glamours. Certainly better off than gunbreaker in terms of role-specific gear that works for it.

I love the dancer, of the all physical ranged classes I play Dnc the most. I do sometimes play Brd just to spice it up a little. i only played Mch to level it to 80 haven't touched it since then.

Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but something about Dancer just rubs me the wrong way. I can't explain it. At first I thought maybe I didn't like it because it's kinda feminine, but it's not really that. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm dreading taking it to 80 and I'm probably going to save it till the last thing I need to level to get that mount.

I had a similar feeling about it, but I got around it by glamming the Late Allagan pvp set, and then pretending that I was a robot throwing laser discs. I don't mind the job being more skewed towards femininity, though my classic concept of the job is Buttz in the red outfit from FFV. It actually makes me think of Spain.

I will also say that the storyline was pretty neat imo. I enjoyed that part of it, most of all.

I adore dancer it is my main.

The only thing I would say is I would liked to have debuff steps like in FFXI and also a Healing waltz (esuna) more support and cures.

We also need better outfit choices but overall a fun job I am looking forward to getting to 90

If that's all you're doing as dancer you're not doing it right.

It can be frustrating when you have strings of bad luck, and that is a flaw with the class. But with flourish you're never going to just be doing 1-2 on repeat between steps.

You could say monk is just '1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3' but that's not exactly fair either.

Dancer is intuitive and easy to pick up, flows well and comfy. It's my first choice whenever I help out with something and want something forgiving and unrestricted. It can be frustrating if I don't have a decent dance partner but it's great if I don't want to think about timing, greed, mapping and so on too much and just want to play.
Keep things on CD, bunk feathers and Esprit for burst, otherwise push glowing buttons and don't overcap. Very relaxed.
If I'm not in the mood for DF/ PF stuff, saying "physical ranged still open" usually does the trick.

Aethetics are nice but haven't been the selling point for me and it doesn't strike me as escpecially feminine. It's elegant, that's not the same as feminine. It seems a bit lacking in the glamour department due to being so new but it will come in time.

DNC is actually my favorite physical/physical ranged DPS class. It doesn't rely so much on a set-in-stone rotation like other jobs, but rather priorities and support and I love that.
