It's my main job so I enjoy it quite a bit. As someone up there put it, it's "comfy." I take breaks from the game for variable periods of time and dancer is simple enough that I can just pick it back up and play it at the same level of efficiency, so I rather like that aspect.
I only wish there were more dances or more to do with them. I wonder if 6.0 will add a third "step" action.
I kind of wish we had different dances like stances that affected our rotation or buffs in different ways, but that may be too similar to the bard songs. It's my main job so I enjoy it quite a bit. I found dancer pretty fun, I think my biggest complaint is likely to be impractical to solve but the movement skill felt a bit.. "locked down / stiff" in my mind it didn't feel quite smooth or graceful. I imagine part of that issue is not just the speed and distance the skill executes but also perhaps issues in deeper code. Anyway when I use it I imagine a more action rpg feel, nice graceful dodge.. which it doesn't feel that way to me - feels stiff (which again I'm sure is due to a collection of issues and might not be that simple to adjust, but it would be neat if it was possible).
On an aside note the balance early level, at least when I leveled it, was pretty hilarious- absolutely deleting things early on lol.

The thing that comes to mind is the dash/dodge you see in Automata. You can very much adjust the direction on the fly and it feels very smooth because of it. That said, yeah, I think it comes down to whatever issues exist deeper in the code. XIV as a whole feels rather stiff. En avant ain't the only one. Practically every skill that involves closing a distance gap is incredibly snappy in its animation, which is practical, since of course, the intent is to get from point A to B as fast as possible... It just doesn't quite do the "gracefulness" of dancer justice.
Normally not a fan of robes and "feminine" attire (despite being a whm) but I'm enjoying dancer so far. It's what bard used to and should be, a true support class. I'll immediately drop it the second they put bard back to what it was but in the meantime, watch me twerk for those group DPS numbers.

The only thing I can’t stand about dancer is how SE used dancer as a reason why they stripped bard of all its support. Makes absolutely no sense. Bards and dancers both suppose to have really good support. How can they do that?....
What all did they take away from Bard support wise? It still has three songs that grant party buffs right?
When ShB was released, they had removed the party-wide buffs from Bard's three songs along with other jobs' party-wide buffs because of how the raiding-meta was in prior expansion, which favored jobs that buffed the party and/or synergized with others (DRG+BRD as an example).
They added the buffs back due to fan feedback.
As for the subject on hand, I'm a DNC main. >w>()
I enjoy the more fluid rotation and random-procs.

On release they stripped the buffs from Bardsongs, and removed Foe Requiem from SB to ShB, the buffs were later added back after fan outcry. And with the removal of TP, they also removed Tactician (rather, reworked it into MCH's mitigation cd) and Refresh... our AST still feels the loss of Refresh on prog.
