Notice that I didn’t say there was anything wrong with it, just that I don’t like it.

Ok, but there is no negative that comes out of overleveling either, so there's no reason to dislike it.

Gears do not scale with your level in this game, so you'll still receive gears that is appropriate to the quest/content that you are doing.

If it still bothers you so much, just hide your exp bar as you don't really need to see it.
