He explains that The Echo can be used to influence others the same way a primal influences others. That it's not that The Echo makes us immune to primal influence, but rather in a complete twist, we could possibly influence a primal instead. Which I found very interesting.
I'll be glad if I end up being wrong but I suspect the final boss will be Zenos-Zodiark versus us juiced up by Hydaelyn.

Ugh, that would be so cliché. The least they could do is spice it up and have Zenos powered by Hydaelyn as a twist and actually put the title "Warrior of Darkness" to use.
I feel like the ship has sailed on the warrior of darkness thing sadly, though I do wish SHB had done more with it.

That's what I am hoping they do and there's some indications they might be going in that direction but it all amounts to how one reads the tea leaves in the end, and nothing concrete.
And the Blessing of Light. Don't forget that. Granted it was there all the time in SB, but it's always there barring that one brief period where Midgardsormr disabled it.

And us being a piece of if not Azem, so we had two god items from day one. Which means Zenoroth could no sell them, probably easier now. Hope we get some insight into that too. And maybe a few dead NPCs we've known since the start because I want WoL to get mad again and to "spice up" the maybe 89 trial with Zenos.
I don't know if they could pull this off well, but something like the end of the World of Light mode in Smash Bros Ultimate could be neat, where we're fighting Hydaelyn and Zodiark at the same time, while they also fight each other, with the goal of destroying them both for the sake of the realm. I kind of wish that this had happened with Omega and Shinryu too instead of Shinryu just being used to add an iconi FF boss to the end of 4.0.

Yes, it'll be a bit dull if all Fandaniel and he accomplish is a few minor character deaths that no one cares about anyway. They can at least make him entertaining that way.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I'm hoping someone along the lines of G'raha, Alisae or Nanamo have their skulls crushed like an egg by either Fandaniel or Zenos. The cast of characters is becoming rather bloated and it's rather dull to see the only deaths consist of either antagonists or secondary characters temporarily promoted to positions of importance.
I don't like character death for the sake of it. Yet if the intention is to truly make an antagonist a legitimate threat then...there needs to be actual stakes. Everything Elidibus did towards the end amounted to little more than a fireworks show. My assumption is the writers didn't want to take away from the tragedy of his character by having him kill off anyone of importance but Zenos and Fandaniel have no sympathetic qualities and do not need to be bound by such constraints.

I didn’t like Sephiroth and I definitely don’t like this one dimensional version of him either.
For Stormblood he was fine, a bit on the boring side but it worked. Then he kept showing up in Shb, without us dealing with him. And now we get him... again.
