This is one of the strangest hills to die on. I agree they should have a space to advertise, but General Discussion is not the space for that - it's a space for discussion of topics, and advertisements allow only as much discussion as "cool". Until SE expands the forums to account for Data Center visits, or even until Data Center visits are, well, a thing, these should remain exactly where other advertisements like this go - to individual world forums, or off of the official forums and into spaces like reddit and dedicated FFXIV fan forums.
