A solution to a frequent complaint (Mount Music)

How often do you put a lot of work into getting a new mount only to be let down by hearing "Borderless" start up?

How many of you have resorted to disabling mount music altogether to break the monotony?

How many of you find yourself collecting Orchestrion rolls but rarely having the time to listen to them because you need to be in a house, inn or apartment to do so?

The solution is clear. We need Mount Radio. The option to replace the music on any mount with any song you have the Orchestrion roll for. The option to make a playlist of songs just like you can in your room or house.

Granted, there's a catch isn't there? Some mounts are coveted because of their music and would lose their perceived 'uniqueness' from something like this. Especially Mogstation Mounts, so that's something to be considered.

I feel that this could be a big Quality of Life change for the game if implemented and is something very feasible since it's just marrying two existing parts of the game together.

I turned off mount music so i could listen to zone music. I haven't had mount music turned on since we were given the option.

I much prefer listening to the music in its specific area.

I turned off mount music a LONG time ago because that was the music that a lot of my favourite mounts used. Since I have my own house, I tend to have my favourites playing in there, and whenever I need to AFK, and still be near enough my TV to be able to listen to the music, I tend to AFK in the house so I can listen to those songs I really like.

While it would be nice to be able to select the music played while riding mounts, I feel that is development time that could be spent on other things(even, in my non-programmer knowledge, it would be as simple as adding the orchestrion player to it somehow...which could potentially be easier said than done)

It really does seem like an easy ask, even if we're just talking about more diversity in mount music and not a full scale custom music player while mounted. My only guess at this point is that there's some stupidly designed way music is handled on the back end while mounted that makes this way more difficult than it should be.

Pretty sure a dev commented on this at some point. The pool of music tracks that can play in a given zone is limited, just like everything else, because it's checking against a database in real time for hundreds of players.
You have two zone themes, the battle theme, sometimes a beast tribe theme or two, and then x amount of mount tracks. It has to check this database for every player in the zone every time their music changes.

Not only did I turn off mount music YEARS ago (annoying), I frequently turn off music, or even my sound completely.

I think this is an amazing idea! I would love to be able to change my mount music. The few mounts that have their own music is really special.

Also I can't believe so many turn off music. I only do that when doing something like gathering so I can listen to an audiobook or something. Other than that the music in this game is awesome and I love to hear it. It really adds to the vibe in each area.
