When my subscription is over I'm done. Not buying the next expansion or anything else and this will have a determining factor on what other games I buy from Square Enix in the future. Clearly my time is not valued.

Entire concept of Housing is to encourage community not for your symbol of social status.
Personal Housing is a luxury, not a must, don't get it wrong.
If you are active in social like you are supposed to be in a MMORPG, you will be either in a FC or be someone's friend and list you as tenant.
There is also an apartment and FC room for your own private space.

Except the system right now is doing the EXACT opposite. I literally hate people more than I ever have. Tell that to a game that is supposed to foster a wholesome community.

That is entirely your own problem. The game didn't turn you into hating everyone you encounter, you were already capable of that. Get some help, and stop putting the blame on SE or other players because you can't control your anger.

I am completely putting the blame on SE. They developed a system that puts people against each other. Some of us only wanted to play the game for non-instanced housing. After grinding away for hours to get the gil only to be told NO by RNG because there are too many people is a huge kick to the face. I play a game to get distracted from life, not keep living with the same problems I already have to deal with. It becomes less of a game at that point.

I think you picked the wrong genre if that’s what you’re looking for in a video game. MMORPG tend to mirror real life. It’s full of have and have-nots. And everyone’s at the mercy of RNG.

FWIW the people I’d met at the placards were all very friendly. (That is, when people had the energy to chat) Everyone hates the system but accepted that the other players have as much right to go after the plot as they do. The most desperate ones tend to there for FC house, but they still treat people who were there for personal housing nicely. When someone finally got a house after long session, people either congratulated the winner or were just glad it didn’t end in relocation.

Maybe on Siren it’s different?

We are definitely all nice to each other but we are all wallowing around in misery seeing the same people at plots over and over trying to get one.

Imagine blaming a game company because you have rage issues or whatever. It's like having a gambling addiction and blaming the casino when you lose all your money.

If you only want to play to have a house, might I suggest a different game, like: Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, Stardew Valley, The Sims? Playing an MMO just to have a house is.... kinda weird, dude.

Imagine being a judgmental jerk. Sims doesn't have a social aspect. Animal crossing is way too clunky. Housing is an advertised part of the game and that is why I am so upset. Stop judging people for what they enjoy. I want a social housing experience.

Clearly you don't actually play either of those games. While the Sims doesn't have a multiplayer aspect, it has quite an active community, especially those that make custom content, share designs, etc. and to say Animal Crossing is "clunky", what, in comparison to decorating in FFXIV? That's a flimsy excuse.

Perhaps you're too young or something, but part of life (and, surprise, MMOs) is knowing you won't always get what you want, or have access to all things. Not everyone will get to have a house. Not everyone will clear Ultimate, etc. etc.

Spending all your time fixated on something you can barely have without having a full-on breakdown instead of enjoying the other 99% of the game is entirely on you, and something you need to learn to stop doing.
