Viera hairstyles

So I don't even care about head gear. What I'm wondering about is does anyone know or has anyone heard if any of the additional hairstyles will be made available for viera?

They have added a couple new ones since Viera came out but so far none can be used. At this point I could care less about head gear but I miss being able to have a large selection of hairstyles to play with. So much so that I changed back to hyur for a bit just so I use the newest hairstyle for a while once I can snag one. I love my viera enough that I'll be changing back to her for EndWalker but the limited hairstyles is annoying.

Not a word since Viera launched.
At the very minimum, reward hairstyles in the game and on mogstation should be supported.
The ones casually added in with patches that arent rewards or purchased with real money off MS should still be supported, but the ones you get from PotD/PvP, etc or buy with various in-game currencies should take priority! Because no where on those items does it specifiy that Viera CANT use them. So you could potentially buy one off the MB, or from a vendor or get a loot drop modern aesthetics item and have wasted currency or gil on something you can not use unless you go spend real world money to change races. (Assuming you dont still have the 1 or 2 free fantasias the game gave you)
This greatly cheapens the reward in my opinion. For Viera/Hrothgar they are *currently* useless. And when it comes to Viera (sorry Hrothgar) there's no real reason why hairstyles cant be given to them. They dont have odd face shapes that I can see. Just different ears. But Miqote, Lalafell, Au'Ra and Elezen also have different ears/horns, and they get access to EVERY hairstyle... So really this is something that could remedied on SE's part.

I agree with making the newer ones Viera-supported but having every single hair in the game remade to fit Viera would be a lot of work and resources that I don't think the staff have to spare at the moment. You can't just slap a hair made for a different model/skeleton onto another one and call it a day, it has to be remade and reworked to fit the new model/skeleton or there will be obvious errors (even though plenty of hairs already clip but that's a totally different discussion).

Also, as the person above me said, the ears are a roadblock because each ear model is different. Therefore, they'd have to create like...4-5 different versions of the same hair to work around each set of ears. This is also the main reason behind why Viera can't wear the majority of hats. The staff is most likely just testing new hairs on Viera and if it doesn't work at all with any set of the ears, they'll trash having that hair for Viera for convenience sake & so they don't have to make multiple different versions.

No they wouldn't? Viera has 4 ear styles but the anchor position and size is the exact same for all of them, so they'd only need to do modifications for each hairstyle once.

They already make modifications to hairstyles where necessary for Miqo'te and Au Ra so why it's suddenly a bridge too far for Viera is a bit surprising.

It was also stated in those posts that the Viera ears are technically taking up the hat space which is another reason why Viera can't wear all hats. You're more than welcome to dig through those old posts and read up on why if you want. Bottom line is, Viera's aren't built the same as the majority of the other races, same as Hroth.

I know what was said, I participated in many of those threads. But both of those were theories and guesses and both are wrong is all I'm saying.

Ears have their own category unrelated to hats and it would be impossible for Viera to wear glasses or corsages if their ears were in the hat slot, so that's out the window.

You can go and look in the character creator yourself and create a Viera with the Fran helmet hairstyle and cycle through the ear styles, exact same base size and position.

I'm not suggesting it wouldn't be any work for the dev time to do it, but not 4-5 versions of the same hairstyle work.

Just to be clear I'm not insisting on having every single hairstyle available for Viera. That would be a huge undertaking especially since no other race has access to all the styles. But I do think the ones people bought from the mogstation/online store should be updated to be Viera friendly if possible. I understand they might not be.

Besides that I would expect hairstyles released after Viera was put into the game to be available. If you are making a new hairstyle for the game anyway why not make it so Viera can use it. I can understand not wanting to spend resources on the older ones to change them but at least make the new ones wearable for Viera while creating them.

They originally said they'd make "some, but not all" available, and then not much later they backtracked and said Viera and Hrothgar would be getting exclusive hairstyles.

Why they went back on their original statement and why we still haven't seen any of these exclusive hairstyles either is anyone's guess.

If they decide to tweak Viera by giving them additional hairstyles then I hope they also go back and fix some of the glaring issues with the older races too. Highlander men, for example, could do with getting some actual eyebrows and Raen/Xaela would benefit from being able to select different horn styles without them being locked to specific faces.

If that's the plan they have in mind, then it might explain the delay in Viera and Hrothgar getting additional options. If it isn't...then it's going to be a kick in the teeth for those of us who play or want to play the older races.
