    MNK has six sided star so you can stay in combat longer, move out at the last second with the increased movement speed and it does more damage with a longer GCD to make up the time spent away from the boss.

    They want MNK to be full on melee. It’s one of those things they’re weirdly stubborn about like WHM being a pure healer even though it’s never been that in the series before other than ff13.

    I personally wouldn’t mind a ranged attack, chi blast for example has been a MNK move in previous games.

    I also agree anatman could use some kind of buff, since the removal of greased lightning it feels very underwhelming. Some kind of stacking personal damage buff for your next GCD the longer you have it up perhaps? I’m thinking like boost in other ff games.

    I am aware of Six Sided Strike, but there are times when you're away from the boss for a longer time and the movement speed buff isn't even that great you're kinda toying with death at that point while others don't have to do that.
    They're niche situations but every other melee has a tool for them, heck other Jobs have more tools on top of that too ( Nin for example still has mudras at range + throwing knives, Sam their backwards jump combo re-engage and channel ).
    In the end of the day tho it's just one of these things that add a little to the Job and since every other melee has it then it kinda feels a bit empty with Monk.

    Not sure I agree about WHM, I dunno if it's still true because I am not so up to date on it but I think WHM is still the strongest DPS of the healers and they got a new mechanic and ability for it this expansion.
    WHM is a pretty aggressive healer.

    I am honestly expecting them to rework Six Sided Strike next expansion too, hopefully another ogcd.
    Altho maybe I shouldn't expect anything good lol.
    I remember how excited I got when I saw it in the Job trailer and then how disappointed I was with how rarely you get to use it.
    Sorta like a certain other ability...
    Altho they solved that with the Chakras.
