I'm surprised that sometimes, even when I'm logging in at what seems like a bad hour for people (Friday, 1p.m.), I get this message. Are there really that many people playing FF14 or is my server too small to contain people? It's weird that every time I get the message it's somewhere in the range of 1 to 39. I've never seen it go above that even during weekends. What is this message actually saying?

To answer the question seriously for those who aren't aware it's a troll thread from a troll poster: To alleviate re-crashes if a world goes down, SE just keeps the lobby feature on permanently these days. 50-100 people are allowed to log onto the world each time, once per minute. Before they put the lobby in, the combined stress of a thousand accounts empting to log into a world server at once would make it unstable. So you are caught in a net and released at a controlled pace via the lobby server.

People do not log out in FF14. Go see that thread with the guy asking people about played time. People do not want to be stuck in queues so they stay logged in which creates a queue so they stay logged in.

See the issue? I think Yoshida confirmed they are using the best servers on the market so that tells me these things can hold a significant amount of people.

the world isn't technically full, they control the amount of people logging in to keep server stability.

yeah, replying in a trol thread but anyway..

it depends on time of day and traffic, as people have said. if I log in off peak hours, no "queue", even when there is one, its hardly an extended length of time.

so, its by design, for stability. pretty sure it could be researched on the internet instead of trying to cause drama on the forums by going "what does this mean?!?!?!"
