That doesn't stop time travel, that just means the travel is part of the loop - doubly so if it isn't being done with the intent of changing something in the first place.
In any case, the two notable time loops have been resolved. We're not trapped in anything.
It's not stopped per say, but it makes getting directly involved in backwards time travel largely pointless from a narrative standpoint.
Forwards is a whole different can of worms and one I'd rather they not touch on as long as we've got so many locales and lore to go through.

That's true, but it's true in any case, not because we're "in a closed loop" (which we aren't).
Backwards time travel now would create a loop, though. Not that I want the story to go that way.
Mmos love a time travel expansion.
I’ve been telling my friends we’re gonna be “Wings of the Goddess”ing it here soon
I mean, yeah, further time travel is... not likely, but we're also not in a closed time loop. G'raha Tia's travel across time and space actually created a separate timeline, which is mentioned in the last Tales From the Shadows. Alexander IS a closed time loop, though, but G'raha/The CT isn't.
Don't think too much about it.
Don't think there will be any time "travel" but a time "skip" i could see happen.
Never say never, the crystal tower raids were just a side story but out of no-where 5.0 popped out and the crystal tower became a main storyline plot point. This is actually a plot point in the Lvl 80 quest line you unlock by finishing all four Lvl 80 role quests. The theory is that yes, you could theoretically fix the Void, but it will take a lot of work.
I would say that since fixing the Void is the plot point of an ongoing series of side-quests, it probably won't become part of the main story quest. I wouldn't rule out going to other shards, though.
As a legacy player, I would LOVE this. 1.x black shroud can burn, but la noscea, thanalan and mor dhona were great and expansive. Plus Coerthas, I would love the current players to be able to experience pre-arr coerthas. That was by far the best zone in the original game which is why you could hear the screams of 1.x players when they first revealed how they completely destroyed it just because they wanted to wedge in an ice zone.
You know, now that I think of it, re-visiting 1.0 era Eorzea might be interesting. I have looked up a lot of videos and such of 1.0, but I joined the game shortly before Shadowbringers, so I missed out on that era of FFXIV. The game is at the height of its popularity, but there's a whole chunk of the lore that is just completely unplayable and un-experienced for the vast majority of the playerbase.
I don't know how it would be best implemented. Would 1.0 just be re-told again? A "prequel expansion" of sorts in the form of a flashback? Or would we actually go back in time to fix something that didn't occur in the base game back then?
With how much I am invested in FFXIV, I'm a little sad I can't experience being the original Warrior of Light. I'd be neat to see the story of 1.0 happen... with less of the gameplay and bugs that made the original game un-fun.
