Unable to Update Patch Files. [1105] [20629]

    Hello!

I am currently unable to but had been successfully running FFXIV on the Mac OS Download and Launcher. Now I get an error that is in the title. It appears to be from the Launcher update.

Here is what I have Currently and have done.

Mac OS: Catalina 10.15.7 Was played fine but then first experienced issue.
Nothing had changed on my Mac Set up. There was not even an update done.
My FFXIV Folder is Read and Write.

Removed game and all system files and reinstalled - Issue persists.
Removed game and all system files and reinstalled,

    Then Removed:

Sub Folder: 4e9a232b (like a forum post suggested) Issue persists
Removed the WINE files (Like a forum post suggested) Issue persists
Changed my DNS to the public Google ones of 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.8.8 (Like a forum post suggested) Issue persists.

Download a VPN and Changed the Country Code for connection (Like a Forum post suggested) Issue persists.
    Hardwired my connection -Issue persists.
Reset my network profile and settings - Issue persists.
Disabled and enabled my wifi antenna. - Issue persists.

Got Desperate: Restored my Mac OS to Factory and Loaded the Game in a completely NATIVE OS without any of my information - Issue persists.

Upgraded my OS to Big Sur 11.2.1 Still, in a native OS without any of my content. - Issue persists.

And before anyone asks - No. There is not antivirus running on the machine. Its a Mac.

For some reason, when I go to download a fresh copy of the game, I still only get a launcher from 2018.12.14.0000.0001

The Update fails when attempting to update the Launcher to a current time: 2020.11.24.0001.0001

    Anyone have any other ideas?

Do anyone know why we have a launcher from over 2 years ago? Why hasn't the download simply been corrected with current launcher coding?

This happened to me a couple of times, I found that running Ccleaner helps. The launcher app was bringing up version mismatches and would instantly close. I'm assuming that it's the same thing because you mention two error codes. No idea why that tends to help with that issue. But it seems like it's the easiest fix.

It that persists, try verifying the game cache using steam, via properties. By most indication, it should re-download any mismatches.

Alternatively, ensure that you're web is fine.

For example. I was using plusnet a ways back and in the case of delayed/late payment. Sometimes access can be interrupted temporarily until you log in and acknowledge that payment is due. Otherwise it walls off connection to this game.

Finally, the last resort would be to remove and then re-install. But that's kind of the nuclear option. Be sure to back up you're game's folders in my documents prior to that.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - Ensure the latest version of Safari is installed on your Mac (even if you don't use Safari.)
    - After updating, open Safari browser and make sure that all Browser History and Cookies/Web Data have been deleted.
    - Please also make sure that "Cookies" are accepted and not being filtered.

Once these options have been adjusted, please run the Apple Update program to check that all firmware is up-to-date on you Mac OS. Once this process is complete, please re-launch the FINAL FANTASY XIV application.

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Why would I need to open ports for something that previously worked and has not been updated or changed?

All of the other steps were completed, as I stated in the original post.

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

When the error occurs are you connected directly toe the router or are you using WIFI?
