A pentamelded Aesthete set really isn't necessary through it's an advantage if you plan to work on Expert recipe achievements or make the 4 star Exarchic gear. It's a pretty big investment (mostly from getting all the materia for pentamelding).
I would recommend starting with the ilvl 500 White Crafters' Scrip gear. It's easy to obtain with a little scrip grinding and will help with making the Aesthete set. Keep in mind the Aesthete set is only going to be better than the scrip gear if you pentameld it. If you don't intend to pentameld ir and don't want it for glamour, I would stick with the scrip gear and skip the Aesthete.
Another goal could be to get the Skybuilders' relic tools. The stats are better than the stats on the scrip tools though not flexible like a pentamelded Aesthete tool, and there's a fair amount of grinding for each tool.
Beyond that, it really depends on what you want to achieve as a crafter. Some players only level crafting so they can make items for personal use, or to be able to repair and meld their own gear. Others just want to make a little extra gil on the side. Then there are the players that use it as their end game and primary source of gil.
What did you have in mind when you decided to level crafting?
- Do collectable turn-ins at Collectable Appraiser NPCs, and weekly Custom Delivery for white scrips. Then use the white scrips to buy i500 gear. Remember to unlock Eh Tou and Kai Shirr as they provide the most white scrips in Custon Dev. See this for info about custom deliveries (https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/w...tom_Deliveries)
- But avoid the i500 pants and boots as they provide much fewer CP. The aesthete pants and boots (or even any crafted gear such as i430) have a lot of CP that you can max on with melds. You can probably just craft your own i430 pants and boots, lightly meld them with some control/craft and maxing CP, and then straight up craft the i490 aesthete pants and boots. Alternatively, just ask a friend to craft the pants and boots for you directly before doing heavy overmelds. Remember to max out CP.
- Unlock all Master Books from Scrip Exchange NPC.
- You may choose to go after the i510 Skybuilders' Tools as an ultimate goal as they're the best glamor at the moment. Stats-wise, they're also quite strong. You can check out my guide for the final step of this questline and see what they look like (http://ffxivrealm.com/guides/caimie-...ers-tools.201/). All-in-all, you will find that level 80 All-DoH is really just the beginning of the more difficult challenges ahead, and that there's still a lot more fun ahead of you!![]()

Thanks for your responses! i just wanted to have a steady flow of gil for the time being either by crafting glam or exarchic gear to sell and to be prepared for the future
Thanks so much im going to look and study all these resources to move forward- Do collectable turn-ins at Collectable Appraiser NPCs, and weekly Custom Delivery for white scrips. To be frank, I find that steady flow of gil these days come from retainer-gathered raw mats more than crafted items. You just need to find out which ones are in demand.
But if you know the market well, you may find that many glamor items from Master Recipes (especially the older ones, such as some glamor weapons or glamor clothings) actually are good sources of income. However, they may require you to buy an expensive mat first before you can craft that glamor item, so you need to have some capital on hand for investments before you can sell a glamor item like that. Be sure to check the purchasing history on the MB that there are sufficient people buying the product before you make that investment.
