Regardless, I remember when I could get any special wii remote or whatever else I wanted as a kid. Now everything just sells out at the snap of a finger.Stuff like ps5, xbox, and the whole chips decline has to do with politics, theft, and sovereignty.
The countries which have the natural resources necessary for these chips are either not allowing it anymore, being protected by other countries (Russia), or the local natives are not allowing the theft of it. There's also a theory that chips are scarce because they're going into the corona vaccine.
There's a global reset in effect.

Yeah... some were especially bad. So far it seems limited to the JP shipment, which came out in late January whereas NA shipped around now. Yoshida mentioned contacting the company making these (they're outsourced) in the last LL. I have the statue myself and it doesn't look at all like that.

"The silence is your answer."

My my you could get any special thing you wanted as a kid? What a life of privilege, how terrible you've come to such a state now later in life! Sorry low-hanging fruit, I know but come on. This comment makes me think maybe this thread is just you getting into the forum trolling game, if so big bravo.

99% sure this is a troll thread, and even if not - it certainly doesn't warrant this kind of discussion. You didn't get an exclusive emote - big deal. You lived without it before.
"I ALREADY have a car! It runs fine, has some extra bells and whistles, and all that jazz! But the company that manufactures my car released a new car, and this new car has *GOLD RIMS*! I want gold rims! I'm missing out on EVERYTHING because I dont HAVE those gold rims!"

I can't afford it but also I could care less if others can. Even if I could afford it I wouldn't spend that much on one. I learned long ago that these are just plastic things that sit on a shelf. They have zero value and will never go up in price either.
At some point in your life you will think to yourself "Why did I spend so much on this?"

You would have saved yourself a lot of time by just saying you were jealous and wanted the emote, my dude.A permanent OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE emote that does not desist after a use is a tasteless thing to put out in the fan base.
It sends a message that some players are worth 220$, and that other fans are not. It was already controversial when they had the non persistent emotes tied to a statue, but now they have this gaudy status symbol.
How do you think new players in two years are going to feel when they see elitist mc sally rubbing this emote in their face at the end game hub, and they cant ever get it, because they didn't buy a 220$ statue.
The worst part? It's not like a rare or discontinued mount. You can't turn this thing off. It can be used ANYWHERE.
I don't like it. I don't like how it feels to be one of the many players without this thing, and you don't have to say it for me. I am jealous, and it does make me upset. That shouldn't be the formula in an mmo. Everything should be achievable if you put the work in it.
At the very least they could keep the statue in stock and let people buy it when they can afford it, but nope. It's a time limited stinky pile of tasteless crap, meant to show off that you've got money to burn in the middle of a pandemic.
You bet I'm upset. I've got a broken leg, and medical bills. I've also only got two people working in my household. We can't get sick. We have to limit the amount of people working, because it would put vulnerable house members at risk. Covid would kill two members of our household. Money is TIGHT.
And don't come at me with the crap that I don't NEED this mmo. Just because I can't afford everything right now, doesn't mean I have to live like a rotting soul in the Ishgardian brume. I should be allowed to play this game like all of you. People who struggle with finances still deserve to have quality experiences to spend their time.
If I spent all this time with my broken leg just twiddling my thumbs, I would be feeling way worse.
So cut some people some slack. And please Square Enix, consider making the content that you put in the game a lot fairer to obtain. I love this game, but I would hate for it to fall into the trap of time exclusive cosmetics that Fortnite, Warframe, Genshin Impact, and other games have fallen into. It's honestly depressing how much money games are expecting you to throw at them lately.
At least you can buy something in the mog station whenever you would like to, and when you can afford it.
EDIT: In a more serious response—
Yes, the statue was expensive. But the people who purchased it likely earned it. I worked 50-60 hour weeks through the height of the pandemic here while a lot of people weren’t working due to businesses closing or being furloughed. A bit of money I earned went towards this statue. If you wanted it badly enough, you would have found a way to earn money to afford it. It was available for quite some time—longer than the Odin or Shiva statue were available for. It most definitely did not sell out the moment pre-orders came out. At least not on the NA/US Square Enix store.
