Omega Emote is Tasteless

It wasn't about the emote for me. I have been saving to buy one of the statues since forever. I wanted Odin but hadn't reached my goal by the time he sold out. I finally gave up hope of a rerun and purchased Omega. Why? Eventually this game will close down. The statue is a nice thing I can keep on my shelf as a momento when it has. Go ahead, put the emotes in the shop, they're fun little extras but I bought the statue for the statue. Maybe if I am lucky with timing I might get Shiva too. Who knows, maybe my dream will come true and Odin will get a re-release. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to buy it if they re-release Omega in the future.

I realize I'm lucky, that I have the luxury of being able to buy a moderate frivolity now and again, but I'm not out here to lord it over anyone.

Yep. It's about the memories. It's why I have both lore books, all the art books, and all the osts. As well as the statues and CEs.

Op there are a lot of people who cant even afford to resub now because of covid.There are also a lot of other people including myself who have ended up with medical issues due to services being closed during lockdown.And i'll tell you now my priority has not been on video games.Its been about paying rent and actual important things.Not complaining over a virtual cosmetic item and a figurine thats only redeeming quality is its nice to look at.
The thing is though you dont need an emote to play the game.Your giving off a self entitlted attitude.
Covid isnt Se's fault nor are they obliged to make changes for you because your having a bad time in life.It's a business at the end of the day.They still had to work through covid and some of them have probably suffered real life issues from covid themselves be it personally or something with family.They were kind enough to halt housing demolitions for a long time knowing people couldnt afford to resub.

You just have to suck it up like the rest of us.thats life.

I'm one of those very few people who buy for the figuring. When the figure came out, everyone can pre-order and the advertisement for the emote is stock image of Omega MF's still frame screenshot and their emote icons. Nobody cared, including my fc. Now the emote came out, suddenly it becomes a thing. It is really unfair for our buyers and SE developers. I have ppl downvote my video just for the emote and I really wish this could stop. It's a cool figure and a cool emote, that is all about it.

Nice sob story OP but your sentiment is very disingenous. You claim to care about how new players would feel, yet I haven't seen you starting similar threads for:

-Legacy character content
-Other statue/figures emotes
-Unobtainable event mounts and costumes

So I have to assume that you possess all of the aforementioned stuff but missed out on the Omega emote and only now have issues with time/cash gated content because it's all about you, you and you.

I like the Emotes but there wasn't a single Statue yet I liked. I dont really care for Monsters, Primals or Bosses. I would prefer Figures of the Scions or other popular NPCs. But well... they decided to always to Creature Statues. That saves me a ton of money. But yeah. I would love to have this emotes..... but not this statues

A permanent OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE emote that does not desist after a use is a tasteless thing to put out in the fan base.

It sends a message that some players are worth 220$, and that other fans are not. It was already controversial when they had the non persistent emotes tied to a statue, but now they have this gaudy status symbol.

How do you think new players in two years are going to feel when they see elitist mc sally rubbing this emote in their face at the end game hub, and they cant ever get it, because they didn't buy a 220$ statue.

The worst part? It's not like a rare or discontinued mount. You can't turn this thing off. It can be used ANYWHERE.

I don't like it. I don't like how it feels to be one of the many players without this thing, and you don't have to say it for me. I am jealous, and it does make me upset. That shouldn't be the formula in an mmo. Everything should be achievable if you put the work in it.

At the very least they could keep the statue in stock and let people buy it when they can afford it, but nope. It's a time limited stinky pile of tasteless crap, meant to show off that you've got money to burn in the middle of a pandemic.

You bet I'm upset. I've got a broken leg, and medical bills. I've also only got two people working in my household. We can't get sick. We have to limit the amount of people working, because it would put vulnerable house members at risk. Covid would kill two members of our household. Money is TIGHT.

And don't come at me with the crap that I don't NEED this mmo. Just because I can't afford everything right now, doesn't mean I have to live like a rotting soul in the Ishgardian brume. I should be allowed to play this game like all of you. People who struggle with finances still deserve to have quality experiences to spend their time.

If I spent all this time with my broken leg just twiddling my thumbs, I would be feeling way worse.

So cut some people some slack. And please Square Enix, consider making the content that you put in the game a lot fairer to obtain. I love this game, but I would hate for it to fall into the trap of time exclusive cosmetics that Fortnite, Warframe, Genshin Impact, and other games have fallen into. It's honestly depressing how much money games are expecting you to throw at them lately.

I agree. All these expensive emotes are just a way for Square Enix to differentiate between the haves and the have-nots. I thought we were playing a game where we can escape IRL inequality :/

I am not going to buy it but I think it is a good thing.. SE making extra money means more content and updates in future hopefully with this money they can fix MCH identity and DRK self sustain problems :3
Consider it a donation.. rewards in shop mostly not worth it.

They can add something like golden cow or golden pig mount.. and make it 500USD or something.. to show up you are supporter fan boy.. and kinda rich person I am fine with it :3
