    The Auspices and Warrior Job

Is there any sort of relatability between the auspices deities and the Warrior job class? While Warrior seeks to use its inner beast to bolster their own combat abilities, the Auspices seem to obtain the nigimitama (sense of humanity and transcendent intelligence) and arimitama (former basic beast instincts) as they grow older.

If the Auspices were to learn the ways of the Warrior do you think they could in turn better control their arimitama and find a balance between it and their nigimitama?

They're similar for the events that happen in each quest line, but they're different conceptually.

The Aramitama is a part of their very soul, rather than an attribute gained from a style of combat/way of life. It's a part of their existence as Kami. They are essentially gods. The Nigimitama is the same.

Ara-mitama means, "Wild Soul" while Nigi-mitama means "Placid Soul." In Shintoism both aspects are at times enshrined separately and considered different Kami. So in the questline where we help each of the Auspices quell their Aramitama, it has more to do with letting them expel the Aramitama through combat, in order to sooth their soul and let the Nigimitama reign. What is happening to them as the Aramitama builds up over time is that they are actually literally changing at the soul level, into what will eventually become different deities that cannot be reasoned with at all. Like Koryu.

Whereas Warriors and their Inner Beast come out of tribes that practice strong combat related to axes. I cannot remember what the Xaela tribed referred to it as(Will of Karash?), but I do remember that they mostly dealt with it by banishing those afflicted by it. Yet, when you fight the other exiles who gave into the Will of Karash in the 70 genkai, it was unlike the Aramitama in that they were still themselves. They just indulged in letting their Inner Beast run rampant whenever they wanted to be violent and take things they want. The Inner Beast isn't something that builds up over time. It's a part of being strong. It's you, you're the beast. It cannot be expelled from the soul.

I probably remembered the details of the warrior questline wrong, because it's been 3 or so years since I've done it on any character.

I think for the most part you got the Warrior questline right. I can't exactly remember everything about it either, hence why I thought it was just a natural part of every person and that the Warrior class simply just brought out one's inner beast. Though....lol, I might need to rededicate myself on the warrior just in case. xD

But the part about the Auspices makes sense to me, so they're not really like the Warrior at all but something entirely different and far more personal than one's inner beast.

Thank you for taking the time for explaining all this to me; Ivery much appreciate it!

Well, it's actually an interesting proposition. I'm still thinking about it, and I probably need to review my Warrior lore myself. I appreciate your willingness to make a thread asking about it.
