    Windows UAC warning every time I try to start FFXIV

    Every time I start the game, I get the windows pop-up from User Account Control asking : "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device"

    I do NOT want to grant FFXIV permanent Administrator access either, lowering my security just to give it access because it mightwant to do an update.

    How do I stop it from asking for Administrator access to my system when it shouldn't need it?

    Did you previously change the compatibility on it to try and fix a problem? I ask because one of the things SE support seems to suggest is putting it in Windows 7 compatibility mode, which can require administrator access each time you start it, which might be what is happening here.

    Basically go find ffxivboot.exe and ffxivboot64.exe and right-click/properties and check the compatibility tab.
