Don't let people tell you otherwise, PvP is pretty decent in this game because of the attention they put into keeping it relevant and fair. Gettting Onsal this expansion was a jolt to Frontline, and added more fun gang-style pvp like Seal Rock was.

The only thing that is really the most annoying carryover from PvE is the potion weave timing, you kind of need to be on the 8-ball to even rely on it. I suppose they think it'd be too powerful if every job got a recuperate instant skill versus a potion. But YoshiP did mention some changes coming in 6.0 so this probably will change again.

CCs are pretty good and have plenty of potency compared to PvE.

What many PvE only players don't know or care about is they actually adjust the PvP skills so often based on trends, and where the balance needs to be maintained. Like it's not out of ordinary they just delete a skill or add something. Compared to PvE where they really only do number/potency updates, rarely more unless it's a project like Monk was.
