Thank you for the in-depth overview. Looks like I should avoid the Feast if I'm not too serious about PVP!
I'll give the Level 30 PvP a shot, thanks.
Good point about the delay issue. I've noticed that FF14 feels laggy sometimes.

Nobody shouts profanities, because they would get reported for it, but there can be tension sometimes, often just over eachothers' actions. In The Feast (the PvP without objectives) you actually can't chat.
I personally find PvP really fun, but you will find a lot of people like to say it's boring.
You can do it from level 30, so you can queue for it right now and see if you want.
Good point about the delay issue. I've noticed that FF14 feels laggy sometimes.Normal, it's not an aberration like FFXI's (God still gives me PTSD the pvp of that game) but it's not even remotely good like Wow or GW2.
The main problems already come from the servers and the game code to the point that they tried to fix it by increasing the distance of the male attacks but of course it is still a problem especially when you use a potion and the healing of this comes later, this happens a lot especially in skills like Holmang or CC in general where you have to "predict" what the other is going to do because it is impossible to react as in other games because of skills it has a delay in general that in PVE is not a problem but in PVP affects a lot.

I recommend you before trying since your first time can be frustrating is to see a guide

Go to the pvp area, fix your hotbard, check the objectives of each map and enter to test. Always have your map open, read the chat and do not attempt suicide attacks as you will only make your team lose points.

These are good points, be sure to go to the Wolves' Den Pier and set up your PVP hotbars there. PVP hotbars are stored seperately and there's some abilities that only exist in that context.I recommend you before trying since your first time can be frustrating is to see a guide

Try to move with the group. Generally someone will be trying to call the shots for the alliance, and you want to be working with your teammates. Running away from a losing battle is better than a bunch of deaths unless it's a situation that's going to decide the game.
