When I first created my OC in high school, I named them "Keiji" because I was a big weeb. When I outgrew my weeb phase, I changed the name to the homophonous "Kay G."
Radley comes from To Kill A Mockingbird.

I have two stories! My forum name is one I've used forever, and came from a random D&D name generator the first time I played D&D. I altered it slightly (I forget the original, something like Talerean), and have stuck with it ever since. And indeed that was my first character name in FFXIV.
At some point early in 1.0 I switched servers along with some friends, and at that point I decided to change to a female character. Some years earlier, in college, I invented a whole family very loosely based on myself and my siblings for use as NPCs in another D&D campaign. Since FFXIV required a last name, and they had one, I thought that was a good source of names. And so I named my character Amileigh Galashin. However, the reason we had switched servers was to play with a friend of a friend, and his character's name was Amelie something or other. I didn't want to have such a similar name, so I switched to the other female character in the group, Ryelle, who was the least defined of the four. It wasn't a name I'd ever used for anything, but it stuck and I've been using it in FFXIV and any other game where I have a female avatar since 1.0 (with a brief switch during Heavensward because I wanted to try Au Ra).
Valamist = The first fictional character I created when I started writing properly. If memory recalls, he was a gay demon who wanted to be more like humans.
Hurlstone = An old family name which has unfortunately been lost now. I like to keep it going in games and fiction.
I got a pretty simple answer to this one. My name was actually a name I came up with long before I started playing this game, which I believe was a month after shadowbringers first coming out.
Pandora being based on the greek mythology of pandora's box, and the box being considered an object of great curiosity, just that raw need on knowing things, since I'm a very nosey person and tend to be too curious for my own good it suits me.
Nychta just means night in greek I just wanted to literally go ham on the greek based words. Sorta stuck that way since, occasionally I wanted to make my name more realistic to miqo'te standards like p'dora or something but it's honestly way too much effort given how the tribes are with miqote so I just based it around something else to make it work.
That's the story of my goofy name, People usually call me Pandie or Panda (I hate being called a panda but I just roll with it now) and it's been like this ever since.
Well my forum name is pretty simple. My initials+ king as a reference to chess + 5, the number of chess trophies I earned for first place at the time I started using this name. I earned 4 more since then.
My main is just a joke off of destiny legendaries.
Ah, a fellow Titan. Truly a person of culture. *Smash*
Mine is probably a bit more unconventional how I settled on it, but I still like telling it.
When Pokemon X and Y came out I started a file and got to about the first gym when I decided I wanted to try out the Wondertrade system. The first Pokemon that I get is an Absol with the name Absenthine. I'm like "sweet I like Absol" so I used this Pokemon through my file, whole way to the end.
Later on a friend of mine was frustrated that they were trying to shiny hunt and finding nothing. So they said out of frustration on Twitter "UGHHH IF I FIND ONE ITLL BE MY SPIRIT POKEMON, I DONT CARE WHAT IT IS". Jokingly I said I'd join in on this (I was also starting to look for my shiny for this gen) and I used the method with the Friend Safaris. Went into one... First thing that popped up was a Shiny Absol lol. So I named them Absenthine as well and since then try to breed at least one per file.
When XIV came into my life December 2016 I debated for a bit what name I wanted, and I'm like "well, that sounds fantasy-like" so I went with it. So, thank you to whoever Wondertraded all those years ago I guess
Starfrost is what I use for my "internet" last name and I just stuck it on. It's intended to be a contradiction and a paradox.
Because people keep stealing my usernames, so keep some consistency I keep to a naming convention of ending all my usernames with an "x".
Edax is an older username of mine, a Latin word I discovered from the proverb "tempus edax rerum"
Royeaux is one of my newer usernames and a favorite. It was taken from the Dragon Age Origins, a faux French word for the Orlais city Val Royeaux. It's fancy sounding and it's not a real word so it works as a name.
I wanted to create a character that was dark, mysterious and based on superstition, hence the magical black cat. Since a black cat crossing your path is supposedly bad luck, I named him Hex Pathcrosser as "One who delivers misfortune via spells and incantations"
Stormfur comes from the original character name I had here. No reference to the Warriors books but rather a reference to my IRL kitty. When he passed away, I changed the name.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.
I picked it completely on a whim. Usually I'm one of those people who stares at the character creation screen for ages trying to come up with the perfect name, but not this time for some reason. Fastest I ever picked a name in any MMO by far.
