What's the story behind your name?

Chimrit is an old name that I originally invented for FFXI. It doesn't have any particular significance, I just wanted something relatively short and easy to to pronounce with pleasant (to me anyway) phonetics. It became my usual moniker in online games because I rarely see anything similar and I've never seen someone with the exact same name. V'thari is a nod to the lore and much newer.

I was drunk in 2008 trying to be edgy and make my blood elf sound hardcore and mispelled Puremalice.

• Katarh Mest: I wanted a Moonkeeper name that was lore appropriate and easy to spell. I'm not a Moonkeeper any more, but I still like the name.
• Magical Grandmother and Body Count: Both Hellsguard Roegadyn. Both lore accurate. HG Roes have the best names!
• Anzu Waterkeeper: Lore accurate(ish) name for a Hingan Raen Au Ra.
• Ornlona Wistuwyn: Lore accurate name for a Seawolf. Quite literally the shortest one I could make within the rules.
• Taprara Rara: Lore accurate Lala gal name.

The common factor in all of these was being lore accurate, but also unique. None of these names were created using the name generator, but instead using the naming convention rules discussed in the Lore sections of the forums.

Veins cause its three meanings worked perfectly with Metal

I wanted my name to representing something fiery or a volcano. Chardut had Char in there, dut I just threw in as an ending. Mazzma = Magma.

Not that I want to, I was just surprised when fantasia didn't let you way back when, since other games' recustomizing lets you.

Well, gym teacher in high school called me Septonyte, guy was almost always in a good mood and gave people nicknames as a way of familiarity to encourage them (the name is a variation of my IRL last name). It was catchy and I decided to use it as my online name almost everywhere. When I found I needed two names in FF14 I decided to go with Aria Septonyte when I started. I was a bard main when I started and thought I was being clever with the name Aria as a bard and I had never seen anyone else with that name before in any game (spoiler: I wasn't that and I started to see the name EVERYWHERE). Well, I did start off as a Seeker of the Sun and, after learning of the lore in this game and Seeker naming conventions I decided to drop the Aria and work with what I had. Thus the name S'epto Nyte was born.
