    A selection of ideas

These are just some ideas I've had while talking with friends who play. Don't mind criticism, just keep it constructive and civil. (Note: I will edit this over time as new ides come my way so keep checking back. If you want to contribute, post it below and I'll work it in as soon as I can. )

-A glamour plate per class (And I do mean every class, including crafters and gatherers), perhaps with a couple extra for swim/civilian/nightwear (could even charge for them in the cash shop, I know a few people who'd pay)

-Blue mage queue system that works like normal (autofill) queues instead of party finder. If they add other limited classes letting them queue together would also be nice I think (though I realize that is, potentially, a big if).

-A means to gather mats while offline at a greatly reduced rate (gain class XP too), could also apply to crafters

-More control over what your retainers look for for you, not necessarily a guarantee but an increase chance of getting -item type here- possibly also including from -this level bracket- from any kind of venture, even the quick exploration.

-Level skips for crafters/gatherers, including mastery (another one I'd personally pay for...)

-I'm not entirely sure how to phrase this one so please bear with me... I'm up nights, and during most of my day there aren't enough people on to get queues for a lot of content without waiting for hours, if it ever happens. Perhaps have an A.I. option? Not sure what to call it apart from maybe an extension of the trust system, or maybe that crew of trainees you can get from the Grand Companies if their A.I. could be improved...Whatever we want to call it, some way to get into things like raids and challenges like The Great Hunt (EX) without having to try and solo them (I know, can't solo raids anyway, not the point) would be greatly helpful to some of us.

-Crossovers with Persona 5 and FF7? (I'd totally buy Vincent's outfit, and Joker's of course)

-A way to increase the size of your personal apartment

-A 'dressing room' function to allow for easier glamor work/planning

    3. automatically turn off Battle Effects in trials, raids, dungeons, and bozja. So this issue will be no longer an issue for such content.
    4. enable hats on Viera/Hrothgar models.
    5. allow us to interact with our beds in housing just like we can in the inns.
    6. whatever movie/title we select on the title screen should be the one that default plays when we login.
    7. allow blue mages active actions for spells to auto place themselves in the set order by the player on their hotbar so blue mages don't have to have 6+ macros for placing spells so they can switch from a tank to dps to healer role on the fly.

So essentially, make the amount of glamour plates match the amount of classes available. There's obviously a reason they haven't done this already. Some reason like HDD space or the amount of data that can transfer between servers, the databases and the user.

A blue mage roulette would be nice.

They have gone out of their way to make leveling these so fast and easy compared to battle classes that I think most people would not see the point. I think if it also skips the quests and progresses them in the additional way you described, perhaps it would be worth something.

I'd love for more glam plates. Yes, I would pay extra each month even for this feature. I already pay for extra retainers, I could afford another dollar or two a month for glam plates — and some additional glam dresser space while we're at it!! (Or better yet a system like WoW has where once you've acquired an item once, it would be available for glam, eliminating the need to store the actual item in a dresser at all.)

-More control over what your retainers look for for you, not necessarily a guarantee but an increase chance of getting -item type here- possibly also including from -this level bracket-
This already exists. When you send your retainer out on a venture, you can specify what you want them to bring back. Miners can bring you anything you've previously mined yourself. Same with Botanists and Fishers. Combat class retainers can be sent out for any meat or leather or other animal "drop" item. It's a 100% success rate, and the interface tells you exactly how many of that item they will fetch.

-Level skips for crafters/gatherers, including mastery (another one I'd personally pay for...)
Going to disagree with this suggestion. The only reason combat class level skips exist at all is because SE added story progression skips. They only reason they added story skips was to encourage new players to subscribe who thought it too daunting and time consuming to play through the entire content. The wanted to attract more subscribers and know that after the base game and now 3 expansions that many potential new players feel it's too late to start FFXIV because they'll never catch up and always be behind. As the product description says for the progression skip on the online shop "New players looking to jump straight into Shadowbringers or enjoy adventures with friends already playing the game can now catch up in the blink of an eye!" You would need 1 combat job level skip to accompany that story skip to actually join your friends in Shadowbringers content.

Crafter and gathers are not required to play the game. While people can (and do) skip other combat classes just to avoid actually putting in the time to level them themselves, it is not exactly the intent for why SE added level skips to the shop. So, adding skips for supplemental content isn't likely to happen, and in my opinion, shouldn't. As stated, leveling gathers and crafters has been greatly expedited by the addition of the Ishgard Restoration and Diadem. Additionally, Grand Company leve turn-ins grant huge experience for crafters and gatherers. So, yeah... Lots of ways to level those jobs quickly if it's something you'd like to do.

Love the responses so far. Adding my own two cents to the crafter/gatherer skips. While it has been expedited...it is honestly still boring. I grind for my gear already and I do so for all my combat classes, crafting is a bit more tolerable than gathering as far as boredom goes but it is still boring. I only want to get my crafting up for, as my friends will sometimes say, the shinies that crafters can make (Things like the Seeing Horde weapons and interesting furniture). Don't really care about making Gil, and making enough Gil to afford everything is rather hard when a single one of these items can run into the millions. That is my reason for crafters at least...for Gatherers it is literally the boredom involved.

While you can send retainers out for mats, you can only do it an hour at a time. They could build on that system and allow you to send the retainer out for specific mats for longer times and more mats. We have the exploration ventures but those don't let you choose what they bring back.

Agreed with others on no crafter or gatherer skip. The level and story skip makes sense because it's part of the ability to play the game. They greatly streamlined the path to leveling DoH and DoL so skips aren't necessary.

And for the love of pete, yes, give us a glam plate for each class. Though I will go one further and say include DoH and DoL.

I would be opposed to offline gathering. In fact, I'm also opposed to offline market boarding. You should be online to play an online game. Although in a sense, the retainer ventures is a form of offline gathering.

I would definitely love more size options for apartments. For example a penthouse option that has a second floor, and a townhouse option that has more verticality, etc.

As for glamour, I'm really mostly discontent about the problem of glamouring job gear to role gear. A job-plate may look like the solution, but it is still tying the appearance to pieces of gear. What we really need is to completely do away with the concept of transforming the look of individual pieces of gear; instead, the system should have been, in the first place, "wearing" the plates.

For those who are confused by my bad articulation (sorry it's been a long week of little sleep), here's an example:

    1. Have glamour plates as usual.
    2. Instead of applying plates to what you're equipped, you actually have another gear slot on you that is used to equip one glamour plate.
    3. When the game needs to display your character model, it reads the glamour plate and displays it, applying all the same restrictions on class/job as we currently have.

This way I can have my PLD+GNB+WAR all wearing tomestone role gear, but each equipping a different glamour plate that makes them look different, including the weapon and shield slot.

A mode to revisit old fights would be nice. There are some fights in the story that were very cool and I hope to be able to play them again without making another character.

You can, using New Game+ or by queueing for the dungeon/trial/raid again.

I’m fully in support of a limited job roulette especially if another is to be added. Would give some more incentive to play them.
