    MSQ Issues

    I have noticed this especially on the American Data Centers, but during the MSQ scenarios they just pull everything and run to the next section and god forbid if you actually die or get left behind for whatever, they just run off without you.


    I don't think this is very conductive to game play as people do these for poetics/xp etc.

    Is there a way we can make it so that you can't leave one area till said mobs are dispatched or something along those lines?

    Also I have noticed timing inconsistencies between the English and Japanese dialogue, and people being locked out and having to port in to certain fights and bosses being dead before they are even out of cut scenes. Is there a way this can be changed so that people are forced to wait till all dialogue in w/e language is finished before engaging bosses?

    You mean the msq castrum and prae dungeons? No. The main exp comes from the bonus. If you wanna kill things for exp, run your highest level dungeon.
    You get the same amount of poetics no matter how many enemies die. How are you getting left behind? Every single job has sprint. I'll never understand not using it on cooldown.
    Lockouts are not an issue, as you are teleported into the fight, if for some reason you were hanging back.
    If you're that desperate for exp, just return at the end of the dungeon and kill them yourself.

    That's not what they're asking for though.

    @OP. It already is broken up into sections. The glowing blue line before boss pull. As videos are not clipped, the only thing people are potentially missing is being at the forefront with the fastest runners, but who are teleported to the fight anway which saves them running. The MSQ already heavily forces pacing just with locked clips alone.

    Of course max levels are only running it for poetics, or alts for xp though. If there was no incentive for these people to do content that is the fastest way for them to achieve their levelling or currency goals, there's no way they'd even bother doing it, and this wouldn't have anywhere near the queue pop it does.

    You both have valid arguments, and I do not disagree with them, it just makes it rather frustrating for the newer players I feel. This is just my thoughts on the matter in any case =)

    I understand where you are coming from but unfortunately there's no real way around it. Hell, what we have now is better for new players than how it used to be when cutscenes were skippable. Then, new players had to choose between watching the cutscenes now and missing the fights or watching them later on at an inn and actually get to do the fights.

    I think what we currently have is a good middle ground.

    No they just need to make mobs invulnerable till the playtime of a cutscene is done + a few sec. Add exp to all most - just like in leveldungeons, maybe a bit more and LOCK each room till its cleared. Sure best would be a solo instance but my way would be the least work. If you dont like how long it takes... well, dont run it.

    Which is most likely what will happen if those restrictions are implemented, and my condolences to any new player who then has to wait hours for their mandatory Praetorium queue to pop. I already stopped doing MSQ roulette in Stormblood, I prefer to actually play the game and not spend 40 out of 45 minutes twiddling my thumbs, even if I lose out on easy exp.

    Are you saying everyone will stop running it if they have to fight the enemies?

    It's the way we've always done it on my DC. You gather them as you run along the corridor and it takes ten seconds of AOE to mop up the whole pack. It's only a tiny fraction of the time you spend in there overall.

    If they did force it, unless people refused on principle believing it to be a huge imposition, they'd probably keep running it and realise it's not that bad. (Other than the whole dungeon being bad of course, but having to fight a few tissue-paper enemies doesn't make it worse.)

    Not the enemies themselves, but the increased roadblocks, locked rooms until you clear every weak trashmob, enemies being completely invulnerable during cutscenes and a few seconds afterwards, basically just even more systems in praetorium that waste your time while you just stand around.

    You get your fancy tome for that, if its not worth your time, its ok to something else^^

    Its the "Ignore EVERYTHING you can and run straight ahead - if possible cheese the mobs" mindset that got us that "stop and go" dungeons with roadblocks every few meters...
