What are the best ways to make gil?

I have heard that treasure hunts are one of the best ways to make gil. What other ways are there? It seems like the game rewards you quite a lot of gil just for playing, but not quite enough to amass enough gil to be in the millions that I heard people are at!

Moving a house to a plot of land where autoclickers gather and dropping a retainer with a full listing of maple lumber priced at 1 million each.

Given the last thread I'm disinclined to engage seeing as discussion of ERP is a big no-no that will get you marked as a troll here.

Would you care to explain more? That sounds like botting, and I'm not sure if I want to bot to make gil, but I'm happy to hear an explanation.

Edit: I see; I'm not sure how to do that though, but I'll search!

According to an ERPer, that is not the best way to make gil. If you want to make gil in ERP the passion absolutely has to come before the gil signs in your eyes. There are far quicker and easier ways to make gil in FFXIV.

I'd say the best way to make gil in my experience is to become an omnicrafter and try to be as self sufficient as possible, learn to play the market board.

Treasure maps and the hidden dungeons they award (you will need a party to do the hidden dungeons though)
Run your duty finders daily and roll on everything. Desynth everything you get (you will need to have every crafting discipline to do this though). Sell the results.
Keep your retainers doing quick ventures and sell the results (or again desynth and sell the results) some of the stuff they bring back is worth hundreds of thousands.
Work the market board: Find things that NPCs sell but people for whatever reason buy for higher prices on the marketboard like the unglamour prisms and lots of the low level crafting mats. You can make pretty consistent and decent profits like this.

Thank you! Looks like a common theme on both Reddit and here is to craft!

Selling things to other players is the way to make millions, though it's generally not going to be something that happens overnight.

Crafting and gathering are very solid and consistent ways to make gil but they aren't the only way to get items to sell on the MB. You also have:

    Treasure Maps
Items purchased with tomestones and either sold directly on MB (topsoil/crafting materials) or converted to GC seals to buy items that can be sold on the MB (crafting materials and a few other random items)
ShB FATE grinding for bicolor gemstones (crafting materials, housing items)
Retainer ventures (crafting materials from hunting, mining, botany ventures, all sorts of different items from quick ventures)
Lockbox farming in Eureka and Bozja for items that can be sold on the MB (the hairstyles tend to sell for good gil but there are other items to sell as well)
Probably a few other methods I can't think of spur of the moment.

Running Daily Roulettes and if you play multiple Jobs, take advantage of the Adventurer in Need Bonus.
Also do stuff that counts towards the Challenge Log.

Its slow, but if your ot wasting large amounts of gill, it will make you millions over time.
You can make about 100k a day. (Or maybe slightly less, but I swear highend content pays alot)

If you have them golden fingers ERP can net you a lot. I know of one person that makes 500k an hour for their erp. Game has some thirsty and lonely people.
