Why is there so much drama on the forums here?

Sometimes these people need a wake-up call that the bubble they live in is not representative of the entire server, data center, let alone the game kind of things. This forum has of mix of people who do different things in-game, and not just one segment which offers all sorts of things to the table.

These forums are very calm compared to most haha. Also reddit hardly is a place to discuss since its a one sided echo box where hive mind rules

Nobody on this forum knows how to behave like a normal person for more than five minutes. If you stay here long enough, you begin to go feral.

Welcome to gaming forums for mmos. They're usually like this and many are far far worse.

Very much what I came here to say.

I think it's the official forums that attract it the most, especially trolls. It probably doesn't help that this is a place where devs get feedback, so I think people can be more vocal about what they disagree with or more vocal about certain issues. I think there is also this perception that bad decisions are influenced by the community.

But I try to be polite and respectful with the opinions I disagree with, but sometimes people will come in with poor attitudes or to simply troll, by which point you choose how you deal with it and those people aren't always willing to listen to reason and I think that's mostly where drama can brew. But it's not across the board, there are some really good discussions t hat come out of this place too and genuinely good feedback.

60% of thread in this forum is mostly about complain and 20% of it is "prediction" thread

the rest is the standard thread

on the other hand, i find the FF14 on discord is pretty chill but probably because the text went pretty quickly so sometimes i dont understand what are they talking about lol

if there was no drama at all.... i think that would be worse. it would mean that there wasn't anything worth complaining about. (i.e. people not caring at all) and if that was the case, well then most likely the game would probably not even be running at all anymore.

Whilst I am for people in general and in life having more empathy & that the world sucks and the game can be a form of escapism & people shouldn't crap on each other...I'd probably at least edit out your profanities save a mod seeing them acting on them, especially given it's a lot of name calling too, it's likely something they'd pick you up on. I expect you can deliver your point without them even if you wanted to get that off your chest (and dare I say, insulting people doesn't really invoke empathy out of people, so I expect you might not get a good reaction).

Ah, I see that you're new to the internet. Compare the FF14 forum to, say, the WoW forum (where the only thing everyone agrees on is that they hate WoW) and realize that FF14 has an insanely chill population for an online game. Go to the LoL forums to see the degenerate end of gaming forums.

Coming from other games, I was shocked that the FF14 forums are so relatively chill.
