I actually did that when I did it. They didnt die or get detected. They walked right though one of the golems. Maybe you just had a lag spike. It happensThey are not. You can try the first room in the duty for yourself if you'd like. Sprint ahead of them and reach the door without getting spotted. Meanwhile Yshtola and co will waste time chatting about how dangerous the duty is and casually walk over to you, while you're already at the door, and die.
This. I've seen the NPCs walk/run right in front of the golems and it didn't aggro them.
Whereas another time leveling a crystal alt all three of us were super tucked into one of the nooks on the 2nd set of them and we still got spotted when it should have been impossible. It makes me wonder if the golems can detect based on sound, or if specific golem's AIs are bugged.
Never had any issues with NPC's in story missions.
Did have a couple of issues with Trusts but that was my own fault for pushing them into pulls that where to big for their AI.
I also wanted to take a moment to gripe about how bad the Trusts are compared to the Squadrons. I mean, sure, the AI is smarter by malms. But. The squads just laugh at mechanics. Tried out an old run recently when I started the Resistance weapon quest. Run a level 60 dungeon for a bitter memory. "Eh, I never cleared Pharos Hard with squad, let's see if that works." And damn, they make dungeon running a breeze.
To ge fair, she IS blind. lol
On a more serious not, I remember failing once because I didn't know what I was doing but the 2nd time was smooth sailing. Maybe it's a bug?
Just did it yesterday in Ng+ nothing out of the ordinary happen there for me.. could be a bug that happens randomly?
The seas continue to rise while the lesser moon continues to fall, and ilm by ilm, the world becomes ever more unlike itself, without the illumination of knowledge, we but vainly flail as specters in the dark.
This. I've taken at least 3 characters through ShB and have sprinted through sections many times. Shtola and the viera girls just phase through the golem without any issues. You may have encountered a bug, or you got caught and didn't realize - thus believing it was surely one of the NPCs, even when it's pretty much impossible.
Trusts can be a bit hit or miss - Urianger often will try finishing a heal cast before moving out of danger, I assume healing is marked as a higher priority for their AI than avoiding damage, but either way it's gotten him killed on bosses in Ravel a few times.
The only time I've had trouble with overpulling though was if I was on a tank. Thancred and G'raha both manage double pulls well even in Holminster, and I routinely drag a second group onto them (especially while playing through on heals). My only complaint with Trusts is the complete lack of AoE, and the fact they aren't programmed to DPS while moving even if they're capable of doing so. (I get this is a way to make it so people won't replace real groups entirely with Trusts, but still irritates me.)
