NPCs too stupid in battles and instances

I failed the story instance in Raktika twice where you have to avoid the gaze of the ancient Ronkan golems walking around not because I got spotted, but because Yshtola and one of the Ronkan guardians get spotted while casually walking right into the golem. This triggered the golems to activate and for some reason I'm the one who got aggro even though it's not my fault.

If it just happened once that's fine but this happened four times (leading to two failures) where I eventually realized that I had to slow down and lead them to safety, as if they can't dodge the golems by themselves.

I'm not usually one to complain but seeing the NPCs who are supposedly some of the most seasoned veterans fail to such basic mechanics is just weird. Sometimes they even just stand in an AOE and get hit without even trying to move out, which is hilarious but also quite cringe.

I've wiped a couple of times with Trusts, but it was always my fault, not theirs. Even when they stand in everything they manage to pull through.

I think hes talking about the hidden temple instance, where you indiana jones it.

I have seen Alphinaud stand in the bad, end up dead, leading to wipes twice, myself. The only times I've failed with Trusts so far, and they were entirely his fault. Really not helping my irrational dislike of him.

But, for the solo instance in OP, can't say I even remember that one. But, taking four times before you learn that maybe you need to do it a bit differently...

Yes, I didn't realize that the NPCs are triggering the golems because I thought the game "cheated" by making them immune. I thought I failed somehow until I saw them walking casually right in front of the golem and triggering them. Feel free to make fun of me though, I probably deserve it for not realizing that the NPCs are that stupid.

I have three characters at endgame now so I've done that section with each of them, and I only remember getting caught by the statues once - not sure if it was my fault or an NPC, but it's clearly doable without being caught at all.

Or to look at it another way, if you the almighty Warrior of Light can be caught out, why shouldn't they?

(Though I would have assumed the NPCs are immune to being spotted in those situations so long as you're doing it right yourself.)

The npc are immune to being spotted so yea....
Also the trust npcs are dumb. In the last boss for hol switch the healer will stand in center(bad) while the boss is doing the front back rotation aoes if your not on the same side as them killing the healer.

They are not. You can try the first room in the duty for yourself if you'd like. Sprint ahead of them and reach the door without getting spotted. Meanwhile Yshtola and co will waste time chatting about how dangerous the duty is and casually walk over to you, while you're already at the door, and die.

I wonder if a kick vote would pass?

    Yshtola leaves the party
    Thancred joins the party
    Thancred: Hey guys!
Alphinaud: That last player, my gods

The only time I actually failed that was because my vision was a bit more poor than I thought for the poison room. I did not see that opening that takes you to the exit and endlessly looped around the room looking for the right path to the exit. Second run through I felt around and found it.

Either one of the npcs was spotted by the statues on the last one I ran it through with, which was odd because I was fully hidden from both statues i.e. hiding in the nook. It was interesting because the messages they give you when the debuff stacks made me think of my WoL thinking suicidal thoughts. When I realized that, I thought damn, that's dark.

This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
