Are you making an early April Fool joke? What are you on about? WoW lore is awesome! Like that new cinematic where Baduin shanks the big blue woman right in the chest parts and then Sylvanas is conflicted about it!
Also, is anyone else bothered about the one where Anduin is kept prisoner in that little circle? Did they let him out to use the restroom or like give him a poop bucket??
HEY! Don't you tell me what I need or don't need, you ain't my mom!You don't need the story.
Three Ilm Knights, One Thousand Malm Road

The story isn’t as important as the forums (and the troglodytes making death threats to streamers) insist, and the story isn’t as bad as the people that quit halfway through arr insist.
It’s good, but there’s certainly too much of it before the gameplay is able to match it.
whether or not you want/like the story, don't presume to tell others that your opinion is more important than anyone else's.
That is totally well and good as long as you dont reach the endgame and complain there isnt as much to do and that the devs are spending too much time on story and should focus on what you care instead.
@smooth. FF has always been about story. It's one of the reasons we live it so much. There's always Wow if you want to cut out everything and just do mythic etc. Good luck!

Honestly I think of the FF stuff like jobs, chocobos, environments, music, etc, and then story. I think that's why sometimes to me I want to push those systems more, like "where is chocobo hot and cold?" "chocobo companion update when?" "jobs could do with flavor abilities" "gib airship" "love environments, gib more" etc lol. Story isn't secondary persay but I kind of play like you might play a Bethesda game where you just kind of wander and 'exist' in the world (and when you're just 'existing' those features that directly hug up against you and bring sense and immediate role vibes tend to get my notice).
WoW can never compete with FFXIV in my mind, even if they added loads of neat things, simply because FFXIV has a job system and I LOVE the job system lol. I don't mind or really need the cross job concept, I just like that I can do everything I want on one character. Thankfully the game is better than just the job system, so I don't have to be like "I wish I was playing WoW but with a job system".
Story is nice too though :3. WoW used to have a not half bad but slightly hidden story, and they have some neat cinematic here and there in the game now but the story feels so..... wildly put together.. I guess to call it. From WC RTS games, with WC3 really fleshing out a lot, and then to WoW original I was quite excited but it never really came around. Say unlike with FFXIV where they were "WE GOING TO HAVE A MSQ, OKAY, LIKE WE SPENT HALF OUR BUDGET ON THIS BAD BOY /slaps MSQ car". They've had to learn some things here and there to improve (like ARR had me nodding off in a few points) but for an MMO it's been quite nice. ShB had me thinking I was playing a sRPG FF game a few times, which was /aaweessomee/.
Anyway, story is nice and I'm looking forward to Endwalker mostly just to see the story finale- like the last season of a tv series you're really into (maybe weird to say about an MMO but sometimes I worry if a tv series goes on too long it just becomes aimless, I do like when things have a 'finish'- so our saga finishing is pretty hype to me, excited to see what happens), of course people don't need to like it (story), and people are funny telling each other what they need to like or want (self included sometimes) XD.
I hate the part of msq that made me into an errand girl or messenger and there's lots of it.
