You had somethin similar in AION it was a part of craftin... but in an other manner.
You could transfer the stats of one item to an other and keep the appearance of the item you converted the stats to.

a thousand times yes, signed.
But I dont want play AION nor do I want to play any other MMORPG. I want FFXIV and I want it to be something different. I still dont mind but I just dont understand how this can be so important. I think it just doesnt fit in this game. :/
It is cool to use gear because of their stats and not wearing the same all the time.
You do realize a MMO being "different" is determined by its core systems and not a feature like this right? Being "different" just for the sake of doesn't help FFXIV at all. Yoshi-P obviously wants this game to measure up to the standard of MMOs, or he wouldn't be adding a content finder in this game. Go venture out to other MMOs besides FFXI/FFXIV and you will see the popularity of such a feature.But I dont want play AION nor do I want to play any other MMORPG. It might not be important to those like you who don't care about their characters and just wants to hack and slash at stuff until they log. However, there is a good chunk of players who actually put time into their characters and actually care about their virtual identity. Yes, how we act as well as how we look in game.
Your arguments are basically "I don't want it so it can't be important."
Lastly, my version of "cool" doesn't mean looking like I got dressed in the dark.

Thats not the point. I am just fine with the gear we have and I prefer the actual system we have.
So you're just against them adding another layer to the system we have...Just because? The ONLY thing that changes is the end of the Stats vs Appearances debate. Which we all know who almost always win.

I just don't understand the naysayers to the implementation of such a system. Do you like looking the exact same as everyone else who plays your job/class?!?!
OP has my full support.
Yes I do and I dont care as long as I am happy with my gear.
It really is useless to discuss this because everyone will defend his own opinion. For me its just unfitting, confusing, useless and redundant, for you its a necessary fashion whatever thing. Just go on and we will see what happens..![]()
I have an idea... just change your clothing when in town and talking. You shouldn't be fashionable when you go out and fight.

* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
