Lost my house and I'm devasted/confused

After years of playing this game, I finally landed my dream house when the three new wards were opened up. Unfortunately, I wasn't really able to enjoy it and get the most out of it. My brother was diagnosed with a serious medical condition and I had to function as one of his care takers. I received and email on the 11th saying I was up for demolition, which was shocking. I still play from time to time, but I kept my sub up and would step into my house when I was able to log on.

After I got the email I stepped into my house and thought nothing of it. I'd done what I was supposed to do and saved it, but heard nothing back. I logged in today and my house is gone. Years of building up what I needed to buy my medium, then waiting for it to open up or for new wards, and now it's gone.

I don't think there is anything that can be done for me at this point. The space went to someone yesterday. It's not like they can give it back and I'm just sort of beaten. I just dont understand how this happened when I have entered my home. On the off chance that there is anything that can be done, anyone got any guidance?

This is a dumb question are you sure you stepped inside and not just on the plot itself?

As sure as one can be. Like I realize it's the obvious answer to the problem. But I walked in and logged out. I've certainly been in the house since 2021 for one reason or the other.

Just to make sure, you entered the house itself and not just the yard? (I read what was said above, but just double checking!) The character you entered the house with was the owner of the plot and not just a tenant? Tenants will not reset the timer. Did you happen to check the timers menu to see if demo timer disappeared? If you're sure you entered the house before the time was up, make a post in the bug report forum and be sure to fill out everything possible (just put N/A for any non-applicable stuff). You won't get your house back as that would likely requires a whole server rollback to undo all the possible plot/gil movements, but they can hopefully check to see if something isn't registering. Make sure to check the Resident Caretaker npc as 80% of the plot price & furniture will only be stored there for 35 days after the demolition took place.

You have to go inside the structure and interact with something, such as your retainer or vendor. This has been an issue that I know of for at least a couple of years. Best you can do is shop and/or wait for Ishgard to appear in 6.x.

Ah, it said nothing about having to interact in the email. That's really a shame. It was a lot of time/work to lose over something like that. Oh well I guess. Nothing to be done for it. I appreciate the replies.

There's something glitching in the housing system so it doesn't always register that an owner has entered their house. This just happened recently with a friend who's dealing with some real life stuff and has only be able to log in about three to four times a month where he used to log in daily. He's definitely been going on when he can get online because he doesn't want to lose the house. The only reason we caught that his entry wasn't resetting the timer was because my alt is a tenant and I saw that the demo notice showing in Estate Timers. I suggested that he interact with the Summoning Bell and other items in the house because of other reports players have made about the demo timer. He re-entered his house, used the Summoning Bell and the demolition notice disappeared from both of our timers.

All I can say is that if you're going into your house to reset the demo timer, make certain you check your Estate Timers afterwards to make certain there is no demolition notice still showing. If it doesn't reset, use an interactive object within the house.

@OP, unfortunately nothing can be done. I'm sure someone else has already bought the plot where you house was located. Your furnishings along with 80% of the gil paid to purchase your plot will be stored at the Resident Caretaker in the ward for 35 days after demolition so I suggest you claim those before they're also lost.

Nope, you are absolutely correct on that. As Jojoya said, it's an issue. Interacting with something in the house seems to trigger the reset because its a recoded action within the house (or however it works on their end). It's just another evident piece of proof that is the failure of the housing system, and SE should have that included with their notice/website information.

If you just go in from time to time without interacting, you don't need it that much, there is a shortage of housing made on purpose by SE.

Some people change, add and always do something in their houses every day.

    It's still 45 days...

When you think about the fact that some spend their time trying to buy a house by clicking for hours and days on end.

    I kind of don't understand.
Isn't it very easy for you to put a repair NPC in hour own house and make it a habit to repair at your own house?
If you are frequently entering your house, this bug wont happen, what is the chance of server never register your entry in 45 days?
