I also joined the 'gave up and bought it' club.
The price has been stagnant for weeks, and DR is getting worse and slower. I was worried the price would start going up more.

174th run.
So far only 1 mount & no hairstyle.
Meanwhile my FCmate who's just as 'insane' as I am: 3 mounts and 2 hairstyles---apparently they had ran roughly the same amount of times. We used our relic weapon progresses to keep track on our number of runs. They joked about how I'll probably won't be seeing the hairstyle unless I finish all 17 relics grind, and now suddenly it doesn't sound so far fetched at all. Heck I won't be surprised if I don't win any at all.
That's RNG for ya'.

I'm almost glad I bought it at like 8 million flat, who knows how high this hair is going to settle at eventually..
Yeah, and with you having that many runs, I'd guess you will be done with the relic grind sooner than later - and so will others. With no real reason for players to step in DR, the queue times are going to get longer and longer, and the item rarer and rarer... and yep! BAD RNG!174th run.

One of my friends got 2 mounts and 4 hairstyles in 31 runs. I have done 56 runs and only got the chocobo barding (my friend took pity and gave me the hairstyle). Some are just more lucky than others it seems.
Player

A friend gave me a huge discount on the hairstyle drop so I finally got mine. But my god, the droprate is atrocious. The lack of bad luck protection is insulting. And the fact they don't let you save up silver coins for the hair and mount at least is stupid as all hell.
It's not fun to worry about losing resources and re-grinding them to make faster runs and not make a single step towards getting the hairstyle. Everything to make delubrum faster or easier is less time fighting the rng and brute-forcing it. At the very least let us buy it with silver coins, my god. I've had better luck grinding Castrum Abania for the godforsaken katana, Kotetsu, and getting multiple duplicates of everything else before I finally got it.
I get rng and stuff, but the fact that Delubrum rewards are drops only and going to eventually become impossible to get due to the fact Delubrum is content with an expiration date, unless you get into preorganized runs that probably wont jive with your time, is frustrating.
Just. Bleh. There's my after-work rant on the lack of bad luck protection coupled with an abysmally low drop-rate on cosmetics that, frankly, I'm getting tired of being put in absolutely random nowhere places like the pyros hair and lockboxes...
At least with bunny farming you're still earning gil as a consolation prize from the chests for 10k/25k/100k with the chance of earning a high value mount (or minion in Pagos's case) to sell on the marketboard or party finder, as well as accumulating logograms for later use.A friend gave me a huge discount on the hairstyle drop so I finally got mine. Unless you're actively going into Bozja to farm lost actions as well as farming DR for the slim chance of obtaining it's mount/minion, you're probably losing more gil than you gain by going in again and again, especially since you lose lost essences once you step outside the instance. And it doesn't help that you might not even get the action/essence you want due to appraisal rng. It's just a vicious cycle at that point, and one that I refuse to fall into.
Imo, every single map in the game should have an equivalent to bunnies, with treasure boxes to find that would allow you to get a chance at any reward in game (except Savage and Ultimate ones). And they could add not only bunnie-like creatures guiding you, but other mechanisms that would require puzzles to solve in order to find the treasure chest, etc. That would add a real exploration side to the open world and keep every zone alive. Repeating the same duty hundreds of times in the dwindling hope of getting a particular item (i.e. DR) is frustrating and kills the fun.At least with bunny farming you're still earning gil as a consolation prize from the chests for 10k/25k/100k with the chance of earning a high value mount (or minion in Pagos's case) to sell on the marketboard or party finder, as well as accumulating logograms for later use.

This. SO much this. Delubrum gives you fragments I can't unlock because I don't really want to DO Bozja. But I have to and farm all these resources to make my runs faster, and since RNG is RNG I could go through five runs and not get a single drop. Why bother farming if nothing I do is actually pushing me closer and is actively hurting my attempts to brute-force the RNG?At least with bunny farming you're still earning gil as a consolation prize from the chests for 10k/25k/100k with the chance of earning a high value mount (or minion in Pagos's case) to sell on the marketboard or party finder, as well as accumulating logograms for later use.

It's so stupid, not to mention how the Lost Finds Holster works with you losing actions you swap out. And I don't get gil for ANY delubrum run, Silver coins ONLY go towards Law's Order gear and frankly does nothing for me - I have better gear already, or will be getting it and it as a stopgap is useless.
So I have these coins I don't need...I don't get gil for delubrum runs, I just get doom and despair.
Also here in the “gave up and bought it on the market board club” after 124 runs.
I got two bardings and one mount, so it felt like it was really adamant on giving me everything aside from the hairstyle.
Since I also really didn’t want to do Bozja, I couldn’t unlock the fragments and sold them along with one of the bardings for roughly 1.8 million gil total on the market board.
Probably the most inefficient way to earn gil ever, but at least I was making some kind of profit off of it.
Although, even buying the cheapest fragments off the market board(in order to have basic damage essences for the runs) was cutting into and delaying the rate at which I was raising my gil funds.
The number of runs I did while not getting it just left me tired and disgusted with the horrible rate and not enjoying the game.
As soon as I could afford it, I spent almost all the gil I had on it just so I could enjoy the game at my own pace again; instead of wearing down my sanity on an item I might never get to drop because of RNG.
Saw a youtuber who completed a bunch of relic weapons but never got it to drop so she just bought it off the market board, though she’s a veteran player who crafts a lot so that amount was a drop in the bucket for her; while I’m a relatively new player so it took basically all I had and then some(even worse considering the market board fee. Don’t know what that’s for).
