Script error on loading Browser

When opening Final Fantasy in Steam the game is browser is running a script error upon opening, while browsing through forums i followed the steps stated in the fix post

The Final Fantasy XIV launcher will use Internet Explorer to connect, not Microsoft Edge. Try the following with Internet Explorer:

Open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
- Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
- Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
- Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
- Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
- Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
- Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
- Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
- Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
- Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
- Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

This did not fix the issue for me, was wondering if anyone else was having issues loading up the browser as well after attempting these steps.

I'm having the same issue. I've done the recommended fix multiple times, it does not fix the problem. I can hit "Yes" and play fine, but I'm pretty sure it's not a problem on my end.

How long have you been experiencing this issue? When this occurs, are you connected directly to the router or are using WIFI? Additionally, does this occur if the cookies and cache on the web browser are cleared?

I have been having this issue for about 4 or 5 days now, as Datachanger said below it is hit or miss if i can get on, 50% of the time it stays at a black screen and i have to keep reopening the launcher hoping that it will let me in

I've only seen this one happen on rare occasions, make sure that you're Flash is updated to current version and java. Running Ccleaner can sometimes sort it out too.

I have been having this same issue, too. I was able to just press "Yes" or "No" to get past the error randomly, about 50% of the time.

I would be wired directly into the router. I have been having this for a couple of days, I think...?

However, today, I was not. The error blocked me from seeing anything.

After turning back on Internet Explorer, I did all the above steps in the original post, and I was FINALLY able to make it past the errors (plural now?!).
However, I am terrified to log out, risking not being able to log back in, and being blocked by these errors.

I just got this error for the second time, the first a week ago on the 10th.



I have to do the entire mess of turning on the feature of Internet Explorer because Windows decided to hide it. There is no guarantee that I will get this error again, as, over the history of FFXIV, I have rarely gotten it after a patch, and, without doing any changes in IE, it has gone away, only to much later, like now, appear again. So I do not know if going through the list of fixes after I restart, which I will check, will immediately fix the error for me or not.
