So hear me out okay? I am sure I am not the only one thinking of this. But how about in the farming area (since I am sure that is instanced right?) we can purchase a housing plot of any size. Just like in the residential districts BUT it doesn't have a stupid hidden count-down timer so people won't be spending 24-48hrs trying to get this one house under the enormous stress of someone next to them taking it who just arrived 5 mins ago. It will just be a plot for you and your instance, only people who can buy it should be you with no timer and has the same specifications of furniture amount and all that, friends can still visit or be tenants, etc etc. The grid will just adjust based on the size of the house or you can upgrade the house as you take care of your farm like in Harvest Moon.

That way people will have a house, won't be risking their lives potentially to even GET a house AND they can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they have a home for them garunteed and with a god dang farm!!! It won't be what we call "Housing Savage" as much anymore!

We don't know anything on how the Farmland thing is going to work, but I'd assume that a full functional house plot coming with it is very likely. Probably is going to be a small, though.

This would be everything I have suggested with regards to housing. I have suggested multiple times to turn apartments and fc rooms into expandable housing. Acting as both a money sink for the player base and a solution to the housing crisis. There was even a solution for yards. Simply make a glasses in area like a conservatory for outdoor furniture and garden plots. The higher tier your house is, the more tenants. So please SE, either take this guy’s suggestion or mine, but PLEASE save us from the current nightmare that is housing.

I think players will be better served if they keep their expectations low, and wait for more information. I have high doubts this is going to provide all the same features as a house, but I do think all players will have access to it. If you currently don't own a plot, I wouldn't worry about being excluded from this content if you're interested.

That is as far as I am going to let any speculation go on my end. The last thing I will bring up though is that Yoshi said something along the lines of this content being able to simulate day to day living? I think a safe expectation to bring is that it will be a time and/or gil sink.

Would love instanced housing. Been saying it for so long. People want houses and not everyone gives a crap if it's on a ward with other people around. I 100% would have bought my large plot on my own little island than in the goblet if I'd had the option.

If it works out as instanced housing, I'll let my current house go and just keep the island. But I'm not expecting it, so I'm not ditching the Goblet just yet.

The farm plot will probably be like the housing district, first come, first serve. Accept it.

I was thinking the same thing when it was announced. It certainly would be a great alternative to the current system!

I wonder though, if they’d be worried about killing the system they already have in place. I’m not saying that would be a bad thing, just that it’s something they may consider.

When it was announced, the first thing I thought of was instanced housing! We'll be living in this farmland, letting our minions roam, raising animals and farming, it would only make sense if we had a house on it too! Remember they said you would be able to customize the island our way... it sounds like we would have a house. I already have a medium house, but if everyone could have their own house this way it would be amazing! It would basically fix the housing problem!

That’s a huge assumption with no real substance to base it on. I’m thinking it’s more of a instanced activity area that any sort of housing.
