To the shock of absolutely no one. Although, this does put to rest the whole argument they're simply delaying Ultimate. Yes, they're delaying this Ultimate while cancelling the one originally slated for 6.1.

What's a little concerning is Yoshida doesn't exactly sound confident regarding even two Ultimates.

This is not surprising. Still disappointed that YoshiP almost hinted there would be only one ultimate in EW.
But at least this time we are warned beforehand, not after spending two months for nothing.

In some old interviews YoshiP did mention how taxing designing an ultimate fight is, i wonder if that is a contributing factor.

Hope they can come up with some other form of challenge for high-end raiders. Maybe instead of a 18min fight, some WOW style raids that has a handful of 6-8min fights?

I mean.. losing content is never fun, but I imagine that farmville is going to be enjoyed by a lot more people than ultimate (hopefully it's not slapdash put together). Preference nothing is cut and SE has infinite funds and work power to make everything of course.



Ultimate is nice for those extreme players but it's a subset of a subset that gets to actually take part (like.. a partial %). Shouldn't forget about the minority but.. given the situation it makes sense to focus on the majority (majority isn't hardcore audience, I would argue isn't even medium core lol). We might be closer to medium core if people cared to follow instructions like some of the more eastern tendencies (people seem to coalesces easier, agree on a strategy and just 'do that'), but no we know that's not how we do over here lol.

They are indeed doing a great job. Its nice you finally noticed. They are catering to the vast majority of their player base that wants a polished expansion over 1 ultimate encounter.

No one even cares about the story, I personally skip all the cutscenes and I know many others who does the same. The only thing that matters in this game is the battle content.

Edit: This is clearly the case in streaming platforms. Ultimate fights draws tens of thousands of viewers while people who stream the story only get like single digit viewers if any!
