an error has occurred - ffxiv lodestone website

For some reason my wife gets the 'an error has occurred' every time she goes to anything but the lodestone main page and log in page. Once logged in she cannot view her linkshell, cannot change account settings, cant log out, everything just goes to the 'an error has occurred' page. I thought maybe it was her browser, I logged her in on my laptop, which works fine, and it corrupted my ability to browse the lodestone as well. When I tried to log her out 'an error occurred'. I can clear my history fully and its fine, but that fix does not work for her. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this problem and knows a fix. we've tried firefox and chrome, cleared history, everything we can think of. It seems like it has something to do with her actual account, which is active, (she just logged into the game) but I really dont know. any help would be appreciated.
