It would more likely be omega weapon or ultima weapon rather than ruby, FF tradition.

I bet it's the NM for the Imperial Stronghold or else some roaming NM, but I highly expect the Stronghold NM to be a mecha of some sort.

Very likely to be Ultima or Omega, probably similar to the original FFV design.

...I really see no evidence that it will be a weapon. That seems like rampant speculation, which is amusing, and fun, but why do some people seem to have a serious belief that it actually will be one?

Weapon could be anything, it seems significantly more likely we'll see an airship, or magitek armor. Honestly, I might end up eating my words, but I'm seriously doubtful it will be Ultima weapon, I think it's way too early to drop any kind of weapon into the game, the cap hasn't even raised yet.

Yeah, I'd like to see the Ultima and Omega weapons appear once the cap is raised to 90 or so. 50 is far to low for those guys.

I'm guessing we will be facing some sort of Magitek foe, or that Giant Knight in the dats and concept art.

I don't think we'll be seeing Iron Giants (the concept art you're referring to) until 2.0, and perhaps the addition of the Crystal Tower. They're an enemy that was first introduced to the series in a giant Crystal Tower, so it seems only appropriate.

There's no telling what it is yet, but I'm hoping MagiTek armor, and crossing my fingers.
