FFXIV crashed earlier today, and I can't start it anymore

Earlier today FFXIV suddenly crashed. When trying to restart I get a Windows error message saying the program crashed and I will be notified if fix is found. The thing is that it didn't only affect FFXIV, but also World of Warcraft and other games, as well as Notepad and Notepad++, and probably other programs. I ran the file System File Checker on Windows 10 and it found some corrupted files. After that Kaspersky Password Manager started running again, but none of the other programs. Does FFXIV have a crash fil that I can check? I have tried reinstalling, but that didn't help. It helped on another program, Banished, that I run on Steam. I've tried finding a way of converting my FFXIV copy to Steam, so I could run a file integrity check there, but I can't find any way of doing that, without paying for the game once more.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

As usual there's no use contacting support, you only get the same old routine, that never works. What you should have done is to give me a link to a place where I can download the game, and asked me to reset Windows, but be sure to keep my data, and to take a backup, to be on the safe side. AND, why the friggin friggits don't you have a way of verifying the integrity of the games files? Most serious games do, and I know it's been asked for ssince the game was launched.
