    Ninja or Monk?

Hello everyone. So I just Returned to the game these last few days and I want to lvl a new job to get to 80 instead of my drg/pld main I used back in heavensward.

Wonder what everyone's thought is on these two jobs? I like monk better but the positional is kinda hard for my slow reflex lol. I like ninja also but the mudras can get boring sometimes haha.

    thanks for any good inputs

    I recommend Ninja.
I think mudra system is really cool, well realized, and fun.
It's the high point of the class for me, so if you find it boring maybe this is an indication Nin won't be your bag, maybe your feelings will change after you level it more.
Either way, I hope you enjoy whatever you choose.

I recommend Ninja, though I'm a Ninja main so I'm biased.

If Ninja is boring for you Monk will really be boring for you. Also jobs somewhat change how you play them every 10 levels after level 50. I prefer Ninja of Monk just because it seems like I'm constantly doing something. Where as Monk you are basically just waiting for Riddle of Fire / Brotherhood. Though I guess the same could be said for Ninja and Trick Attack but at least Mudra's and Ninki keep you more busy.

If you're having trouble with inputting several commands in a short amount of time (which may be related to you saying you have slow reflexes) ninja may be a challenge. The job is set up to be relatively slow except during your trick attack burst windows, in which case you'll be pressing buttons like a madman trying to get all your moves off in that small window.

Monk on the other hand has a much faster paced gameplay, and positionals are actually pretty simple once you get the hang of them and learn how to minimize the need to move to hit them. I arranged my hotbar so that all my flank moves are together and all my rear moves are together, this helped a lot in learning which moves need to be used from which side of the enemy. But also due to its recent rework, the job is a bit hollow compared to other DPS jobs, there's no much interesting or exciting to do outside of your combos.

Of the two I would say that ninja is the trickier job to play, and monk is simpler.

Thanks for the input everyone. My ninja is lvl 50 back from when i tried it back in HW but I was Drg/PLD back then hence did not play it thouroughly. My monk is only 30+ right now so maybe ill level it a bit more to see how it goes. Also I will start to unlock samurai tomorrow so maybe that can be fun. Really wish GNB is melee dps instead of tank haha

Monk and Samurai share endgame (50/60/70/80) gearsets so once you get Monk to 50 you can alternate between leveling it and Samurai while only having to buy one set of gear for both (except for the weapons, obviously).

Ninja shares their endgame jewelry (Earrings, Necklaces, Wrists, and Rings) with Bard, Machinist, and Dancer.
