Been having a house for ages and upgraded over time when opportunity struck... I don't mind paying 5% of the value of my now large plot each month for the years to come, or something down those lines, I wont mind either way even if it is 10% 2.5% or whatever, I think it should be the boon for having a piece of property or some sort of upkeep is definately needed, so we can keep the interested house owners, and not those that just want one as a throphy.
That's the difference between you and me, you're only thinking about how you're personally affected by this. A tax would be a joke to me. I have enough gil to buy an entire ward. But unlike you I never forgot what it was like to be a newer player, not have a lot of gil, and how difficult it was to get a house. And I had it easier than those poor souls who have to spam click placards.
Most players don't use their house as a trophy. Stop coming up with ways to alienate a huge amount of players just to hinder a small percentage of people. That's not how you fix anything. It just makes things worse.

Let us be real as many have said a tax for many of us who use the forum would barely phase us a tax would actually make it easier for me to get more plots.
I see new players every day buying a small house sort to speak, it is a different time compared to back then. That's the difference between you and me, you're only thinking about how you're personally affected by this. Not any or barely any houses on the server I am on, a house that turn up here and there now and then due to Auto Demolition, over all I think it is a wide all server problem, also people can't afford to be picky either if they want one, same for many servers.. many of these houses stand empty, on all servers, or not done anything inside about, I litterally think that is more of a problem.
Moogle is almost always full, but someone could move to Omega to easily get a house. Both EU data centres have servers with open plots pretty often. NA never does. NA has the "there are 10 people at the placard at 4am go ahead and try your luck and don't sleep" problem.
