Lunar Whale location

I read in another thread that some people speculate that the lunar whale remains in Sharlayan.

I also thought so , but today i studied the worldmap of Hydaelyn and i recognized a floating whale in the clouds above the garlean empire:



What do you think? is that a hint to our "cap to the moon"or just art ?

The Lunar Whale concept is being used for the Fan Festival merchandise mount, so it seems unlikely that it will appear in the game story.

I don't know if they'll outright use the Lunar Whale. Part of me wonders if we'll be using the Void Ark as a reference to it since Fandaniel's new buildings resemble Mhachi stuff.

While i dont disagree, i had another thought that i havent really seen anyone else mention. The Endwalker logo looks enough like a ship that its probly a safe bet. But if you look at it from the right angle, it could also be a tower. The Tower of Babel was supposed to be a path to the moon as well in FF4. The tallest tower ive seen in game is Heaven on High(which you literally cant see the top of from in zone), but there could be something else in a part of the world we have yet to visit.

The whale on the map is probably Bismarck, likely a flourish of "here be dragons".

An FC member mentioned the other day about possibly using the Void Ark to get to the moon.

If we go with the Sharlayan theory surrounding the next major city, Sharlayan has a strong lore connection with the Ark found in Gyr Abania. My guess is this what will be used to get to the moon.

I believe this was used by the founder of Sharlayan to ride out one of the previous calamities. Then those survivors go on to found Sharlayan.

The implication here is if Sharlayan is found after using this Ark, the history of Sharlayan runs deeper than the actual "country" of Sharlayan. And since Sharlayan may be a legacy civilization of a previous nation, I would guess their "knowledge and power" which they refuse to share with the world stems from this previous civilization.

I know there are a lot of theories about how the space ship is Allagan, which I also believe to be correct.

But I also think Sharlayan is legacy civilization of passivist mages and scholars from Allag who have been keeping their knowledge secret from the rest of the world to prevent a second Allagan empire and also ensure their survival.

So therefore, the ship in Gyr Abania is the space ship. And since the threat facing Sharlayan, in the upcoming expansion, is one that by magnitude is well beyond a second Allag, but the end of all existence, should be enough to convince them to act.
