Gil stolen through retainer

A player in-game sent a tell with a link to this forum-site, saying that there's a raffle to win some gil. I made an account, and tried to reply and enter the raffle, but I couldn't get it to work. I created this forums-account and I think it's linked to my lodestone-account now, but I couldn't reply to the thread.

I then had a little connection hiccup with my internet, and got kicked out.
Signed back in and 'boom'. 19million gil gone from my #1 retainer. No history or signs where the gil went. just vanished.


That's what I get for clicking links I guess :/ really thought it was legit since it sent me to an official site.

If anyone has had anything like this happened, am I screwed? is there ANYTHING that can be done?

If a mod can help me out, I'd appreciate that.

It was not an official site. The link you were sent was a phishing attempt and does not link to this forum, which is the official FFXIV forum.

Change your password, because they phished you; you getting kicked might well have been them bumping you by logging in as you, taking the gil and handing it to someone else via trade, and if you were off long enough they'd probably have started sending the same message from your character to others.

This has been happening a lot lately. If you read the link, you werent directled to "square-enix.com" you were directed to "square-enix.WS" (last I recieved the whispers from them) which is western samoa. SE North America does not operate out of Malaysia / Samoa area. Keep in mind that legitimate links for SE will always end in .com

This is just a malicious player sending people to his personal website which requests you turn over access to your ff14 account.
