Took a break from the game during the content drought spawned by COVID, started playing again to get caught up on MSQ and do a few things here and there. I know some changes have been made to classes and such, but I was wondering if secondary stats have been changed at all.

Has there been any change to how secondary stats function, or is everyone still stacking Crit / DH for the most part? I'm still clinging to my dreams of Tenacity stacking being better for tanks than just LOLDMG.

No real changes there, no. The coming gear reorganization, stat squish and class balancing coming with EndWalker might do something to it but for now it's basically the same as it was.

Not surprising though, as I haven't been keeping up since my hiatus. Maybe I'll try and stay ignorant until they make the big pre-6.0 changes. Thanks!

IMO do we need secondary stats? No? Most games are moving from those to primary stats, which I think FF 14 should too.

Because players tend to ignore anything that isn't "the best" damage gain and mock those who want to choose otherwise.

If players aren't using something, there's no sense in wasting development time on it. When it gets to the point everyone is using the same thing to increase damage, might as well just bake that damage increase into the base formulas.

For secondary stats to be interesting choices, none of them should be a direct damage gain.

In WoW it was the opposite as versatility stacking was the thing so people became almost unkillable because tanks said their main stat sucked. No MMO dev has really figured it out except with diminishing returns to the point it gives nothing.
