Dragoon's stance is really bad, a change might be nice..

now to start, i know the task of changing one of the basic animations would be a huge thing, so im not actually expecting anything to come out of this, but its been something on my mind and i may as well get it out there.

the default hunched over stance (for non-Roegadyn/Hrothgar races) Lancer and Dragoon take when they draw their weapon is really awful. im not exaggerating when i say that its the only thing that prevents me from maining the job. while it can be somewhat passable on males, it looks just plain awful on females.

again, im not expecting a change to ever happen, but its worth putting out there that id love to see the default stance for Lancer/Dragoon changed on all races to be akin to the stance Roegadyn and Hrothgar take when they draw their spear. it looks powerful, battle ready, like at any moment they could leap upwards and come crashing down in a swathe of fire. on every other race they look like they just crawled out of the infirmary early struggle to lift anything over 2lbs (which some would say is fitting, i guess).

tl;dr id like Roegadyn and Ronso spear animations on all races because they're cool! i pray some day such a thing might be possible.

No one I know plays as a Roe or a Hroth (the only two races not represented in my FC).
Can you post some reference pics please?
I at least don't think it looks bad on a Lala~

This stance with the weapon pointed in the air? No thanks, I hate it.

It looks like you are carrying your weapon around, instead of being fighting. Pointing the weapon directly in front of you, towards the enemy, looks way more aggressive and battle-ready.

    Thank you for the pic.

Hmm... I see what you mean about it looking like they're carrying it, but I can also see the appeal in the pose too.
I like that theres variety in the battle stances. Perhaps SQEX could simply expand the unsheathed /cpose and make everyone happy, though I know how they are about races having special things.
Kinda surprised we don't have this on a Lala TBH.
With out size, holding the spear at that angle, well, it WOULD be pointing directly towards the enemy lol.

More stances would definitely be good yes but can we also change the atrocious running(not sprinting) animation while you're at it too?

It is a very generic animation that is also shared with WAR.

Feels like I'm watching an angry grandma trying to smack someone with a broom.

I actually really hate how Hrothgar and Roes hold the Drg spear in their battle stance. However I really love how they hold War axes in battle stance. Wish there was an option to switch between them for people that like / hate them.

Interesting, I thought all battle stances are the same save for gender differences. Midlander males hold them similar to Estinien.

One of the reasons I stopped playing Roegadyns besides clipping issues was the way they hold lances and axes. I hate how far up they hold lances and how low they hold axes, despite sharing the same weapon walk and run animations with everyone else.

I like how DRG holds their spears as a Hrothgar. The transition when sprinting feels pretty fluid to me too and works well with our race's model. I just dislike Hrothgar's default pose since it's hunched back for a lot of animations. While cpose helps, it doesn't remove the weird running animation we have at times. It also doesn't help that our tail breaks the regular swishing animation depending on what we do sometimes (I have it break on me while playing AST a lot), but that's another discussion for another time.
