in-game item issue, strife items received via in-game mail.. CANNOT discard or sell

I looked at my in-game mail the other day when I logged in for the first time in what has been two or more years since I first tried FF14 and found a set of 4 equip-able items called strife or was it strife vest, bags, boots, and gloves...
I want them deleted as I cannot discard or sell them my self.. please send a GM to help me as I don't know where else to post this for help..

If it's that you want your inventory slots back, those can be stored in an armoire so they're not taking up space. You should be able to find one in any inn.

ooh ok that is one way to deal with it ty...
but I really want them gone permanently they are garbage item that was gifted by the game itself it looks like from an ingame mail letter.. I deleted it but could not get rid of them or the letter with them still attached.. why would the devs of the game make crap you can't get ride of?

They used to be veteran rewards, for subbing x amount of days total, a few FF character glamour outfits were given out this way. I'm guessing they're made to be not discardable because they were a one-time gift, or something like that. If I'm not mistaken, mogstation items (bought from their store with real money) are the same way, presumably to avoid accidental deletion of paid items.

That said, in the future, event items and other former veteran rewards you may receive can all go in the same armoire, as a space-saving option.

ok.. but is there no way to request a gm to delete them?
I did get a veterans something or another as I bought a 60 day time card... I wonder if thats how I got those 4 items...

Sorry, but I don't think you're understanding what everyone is telling you (or I'm really misunderstanding...)

All you need to do is:

• Take them out of the letter
• Delete the now empty letter
• Go to any armoire (any inn room has one)
• Put them in the armoire
• Never see them ever again, unless you go to the armoire.

Or have I missed something? :S

no I get it.. its just not the solution I am looking for...
but I guess its the only one I can use for now till a GM sees this post...

why is the actual deletion of the items that important to you? are you offended that you got these bonus items for playing the game?

idk.. they are cosmetic at best it seems and totally useless... it was a waste of time to send to me... and I really dislike the waste of space...

Good news is the Armoire is a place designed to hold only exclusive items like these. Nothing else. So it's not a waste of space to put items in the armiore and forget about them. They aren't wasting space because the space cannot be used for anything else, and every item that can be put into the armoire can fit into the armoire without filling it up.
